Took DS3 Hockey to Valley City the past 2 weeks for some great skates with the Jamestown-Valley City players 🏒

Working on the fundamentals that make every other skill possible — skating posture, edge work, and finishing with some battle skills to put it all together under pressure.

Skating isn’t just one skill. It lives inside everything you do on the ice.

Huge thanks to all the parents for getting their kids to the rink for 3 hours of ice time and all of the players for working hard!

📅 Camp Dates:

FEBRUARY 16 & MARCH 16

Each day includes:

1 on‑ice session for Mites ($25)

2 on‑ice sessions for Squirts/10U & Peewee/12U +

Dryland training sessions ($85)

I love this clip of these high school girls working together! We are working on picking up pucks off the wall trying to have two touches, stopping the puck, then passing it. This is not an easy task, but happens so much during your game.
I love the interaction between these girls. Asking each other questions then getting feedback. Shows their willingness to improve and get better.

What a weekend with .wcha in town for our shooting camp. The level of detailed coaching that Tyler brought to myself and the kids was incredible. 1000's of pucks were shot this weekend all while having instant video to review and coach feedback. It was extremely neat to see the kids grab the Ipad and watch their shot then go try the shot again and get better.
I love to see a skill click and that is exactly what happened with the kids this weekend. You could see their shot getting better, whether we were working on the corkscrew shot or the one knee drop to name a couple shots that were taught this weekend.
I was very timid about teaching shooting, but after this weekend I feel confident in teaching this very important skill.

Tyler works with youth all the way up to NHL players. The details taught were something I will take with me and am super thankful 60 kids from Bismarck, Minot, Jamestown, and Mandan where able to learn from such a high quality coach. These opportunities to have such a high level coach come to our area do not happen often.

Thank you, parents, for sacrificing your weekend to be with us. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.

The Professional Women’s Hockey League’s championship trophy made its way to Bismarck for the first time ever on Friday night. Minnesota Frost rookie Britta Curl brought the Walter Cup to her community skate-around event at the VFW.
