Day 3 highlights- Rim Collection & Shooting. Coaching younger players really challenges me as a coach to simplify set up for specific skills. These same set ups I would and will use for our older players. Last day today!

Retrieval Day with our Bantam/15U group. Proper puck retrieval starts with our skating.
Here is our set up for teaching retrievals. It all starts with skating.
Full practice plan below 👇👇👇👇

1. Unweighting our skates to shave ice with outside edge
2. Unweighting skates for slides on outside edge
3. Punch turn set up - Jab step, feeling outside edge slide to punch.
4. Full jab to punch turn - this is our set up for deception with our feet on retrievals. Need to introduce above first
5. Reps for using both feet going both directions
6. Game situation with no pressure using both feet going both directions
7. Adding token pressure from partner to feel pressure.
8. DZ retrieval without pressure
9. DZ retrieval with player opening up for BO pass
10. DZ retrieval with full pressure (not shown)
