When your usual practice space is closed, Legends adapt!

These two juniors took practice outside today and learned how to safely tackle hills backwards, using their toe stops to control their speed.

They both rocked it. So proud of these Legends! 🛼💕

Today’s practice is yet another perfect example of exactly why I love what we’re building here.

Our youngest and newest skater is six years old and working on her plow stops. Today, each of the other skaters took a turn explaining how they understand a plow stop, demonstrating it for her, and then doing it with her.

She listened to every single one of them. She listened to me. She took all those different explanations, put them together in her little neurodivergent six-year-old brain, told her body what she wanted it to do — and holy cow, did she make progress!

But my favorite part was Hippie Circle. It’s always the Hippie Circle, where it all comes together. 🥰

Skater after skater told her they were proud of her for learning her plow stops.

And when it was her turn, she said she was proud of everybody for teaching her.

That’s the Legend Way.

No matter how long you’ve been skating or what level you’re at, you have something valuable to share. We teach each other. We learn from each other. We make each other better.
