IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM THE NORRIE SPORTSMAN'S CLUB
Norrie Lake experienced an unexpected fish die-off in April 2026, and we need YOUR help to protect the lake's recovery.
Over several hundred dead fish were found, a big hit to the native fish population in Norrie Lake. Rebuilding it will take time and everyone's cooperation. Join fellow local anglers and practice CATCH AND RELEASE on Norrie Lake until further notice.
This applies to ALL species, ALL sizes, for the remainder of this season. We will continue to share information as we learn more about the die off event and recovery.
Why does it matter?
· Once a native fish population is gone, it's very difficult to fully restore.
· Every fish returned to the water is a fish that can reproduce and help rebuild the lake.
· Surviving fish may be better adapted to survive future stressors, like low pH levels which likely caused the current die off event.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Please spread the word to fellow anglers, friends, and family who fish Norrie Lake.

Fisheree is still a go! Checked ice today and the cold weather firmed it up nicely. Tonight should help as well. Signs have been placed by the boat landing and beach for foot travel only. This is strongly recommended! West side of the lake has the thinnest ice. Ice cleats are also recommended. Hope to see you there!

Fisheree update. As of right now the fisheree is still on for Saturday. There will be signs posted at the landing for foot travel only. The club will re-assess ice conditions on Friday and post another update. We are strongly encouraging people to park by the town hall and in the field behind the town hall. We would like to keep the beach area clear. Worst case scenario if after evaluating conditions on Friday something has changed, we will have the raffles and food event by the town hall. DJ Derrick will rock the house! We are raffling off a Milwaukee drill and Strikemaster light flight auger this year. Spread the word and stand by for an update on Friday. Thanks everyone!
