Looking for a fun, competitive motorsports activity that can also be shared with friends and family? Chasing success in road rally events depends not only on the tactics and discipline of the driver, but also the communication skills of the navigator. Perhaps the best part of road rally is that no special equipment, tires, or car type is needed to participate. The inclusive approach of road rally makes it an ideal way to get a taste of automotive competition with no real barriers to entry. If you have a car (or minivan!) in good working order, a driver and a navigator, and some time availability on a Saturday, then you’ve got all you need!
By popular demand, the ALSCCA will host a Road Rally School and practice TSD (time, speed, distance) road rally on Saturday, August 8. This in-person classroom event is tailored especially for beginners or those who want to improve their road rally performance.
We begin with an instructional program at Parnell Memorial Library in Montevallo in the morning session followed by a practice road rally that ends at Durbin Farms in Clanton for lunch and time to share insights from the class. Your instructors, Andy Williams and Jim Farris, are expert road rally competitors with many years of experience in this discipline. This event is the perfect way to prepare for the next competitive Alabama Region TSD road rally taking place later in the year.
Registration will open on July 1 and will end August 5 on motorsportreg.com. We hope to see you there!
