Editor’s note: All-Calhoun County cross country teams are determined at the annual county meet, with the top 15 boys and top 15 girls qualifying. Runners and coaches of the year also factor in postseason outcomes.

Another incredible weekend of running closed out the season for the JHS Cross Country team.
The girls finished 9th and the boys finished 13th in a very strong 5A field.

Special congratulations to:
• Rua Mathis – 3rd place, ALL STATE
• Rachel Sloughfy – 13th place, ALL STATE

Qualifying for state alone is an accomplishment, and this team earned every step of it. The growth, dedication, and grit shown this season was something special and unforgettable!

We are so proud of every runner. We’ll miss our seniors so much — and we can’t wait to for next year to get back running!
