Final Spots Remaining — 2026/2027 Day Program 🩰

The Alabama Ballet Professional Track Day Program — the first of its kind in Alabama — is a conservatory-style division offering intensive morning and afternoon training while keeping evenings free.

✨ New this year: The program now offers two levels — the Professional Division and Training Division — with placement based on technical proficiency, physical development, and artistic maturity.

Rooted in classical ballet, daily studies include Ballet Technique, Pointe, 4 Pointe Method, Variations, Partnering, Contemporary, Conditioning, and Repertoire. Dancers grow from advanced students into emerging artists through community performances, the Winter Workshop, the Spring Performance, and opportunities to dance alongside Alabama Ballet in mainstage productions like The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty.

📚 Also new: We've partnered with Laurel Springs School to give dancers easy access to flexible, accredited online education that fits around training. Completely optional — just there to support every dancer's academic path.

Requirements: Must be 16 by August 10, 2026, with four years of pointe experience.

A look at what our dancers have been working on this week at the Pas de Deux Intensive. ✨

From morning technique classes to afternoons spent in pointe, conditioning, partnering, and repertoire, these students have challenged themselves to grow not only as dancers, but as partners. Building trust, refining technique, and exploring the artistry that makes partnering such a unique part of ballet.

We’re so proud of their hard work and can’t wait to see them finish strong tomorrow!

Youth Cast auditions for the 2026 production are officially open, and we can’t wait to welcome young dancers from across our community to the stage.

📅 Auditions: Sunday, August 30, 2026
📍 Alabama Ballet Center for Dance

To audition, dancers must:
🩰 Be ages 8–18
🩰 Be enrolled in a local dance studio
🩰 Be no taller than 5’9”

⚠️ Pre-registration is required. No walk-up registrations will be accepted.

⏰ Registration closes Friday, August 28 at noon.

🎄✨ Registration is now OPEN for the 2026 Youth Cast Auditions for George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®! ✨🎄

Join Alabama Ballet on stage in one of Birmingham’s most cherished holiday traditions!

📅 Auditions: Sunday, August 30, 2026
📍 Alabama Ballet Center for Dance
GROUP 1 (children under 5' tall): 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
GROUP 2 (children over 5' tall): 1:00 P.m. - 2:30 p.m.

To audition, dancers must:
🩰 Be between the ages of 8–18 (before the audition date)
🩰 Be currently enrolled in a local dance studio
🩰 Be no taller than 5'9"
🩰 Wear dance attire (leotard, tights, and ballet shoes)

⚠️ Pre-registration is required.
There will be NO walk-up registration this year.

⏰ Registration closes Friday, August 28 at noon.
