There is a class coming up Saturday, August 24th. We need youth referees.

Go here to register now! You will have to pay a registration fee and purchase a USSF referee jersey in addition to the class. Pay rates are comparable to high school rates (see below)

Pay rates are about $30/$50 hour, you completely set your schedule. Games are all fall and spring.

To become a referee you need to be at least 14 years of age to referee in the State of Alabama. Referees Needed! Great part time job. Get additional exercise. Set your own hours, become a referee. No experience needed. Soccer playing experience helpful but not required.

Becoming a USSF Certified Referee allows you to referee youth and adult leagues in Birmingham and around the country. You can also referee in the tournaments.

You take some online modules and then attend a Zoom class. The total cost to start is $120 for the class and then $100 for a uniform. You will have to work about 4 or 5 games to recoup this cost, and there are tons of games this fall.

The new guidelines resolve a proposed class-action lawsuit over head injuries and will prohibit some players 10 and under from heading the ball.
