The next success story is a magnificent 8 point Jon took down early in rifle season. Jon was at one end of his property hunting when a trail cam alert went off revealing 2 bucks at a feeder on the far side of the property. One was a mature 8 point that he had seen for the first time the evening before. So he slid like a fireman down his ladderstand and ran 200 yards to his bike to get to a clear spot to hopefully make a shot. The field was full of deer: 4 or 5 bucks, a small 6 point, and then he saw him dwarfing the other deer. Jon zoomed in the scope, squeeze the trigger, and watched him drop in the scope. He called Bridget to ride out to get him and the deer while walking the 150 yards to where he saw the deer drop and he flops. Jon, with an empty rifle, sees the buck stand up and run off. He tracked the trail for as long as he could before backing out, the next day Trent found the buck!

Trent knocked down the first deer of the season on opening day at a new permission he got this year. A beautiful 8 point buck with a bent brow tine! The typed story on this one won't be long because he actually recorded great video before and during this hunt then had me come film the recovery! Watch for that in the future.

Tomorrow we're going to start posting this year's buck harvests, the stories from the hunts, and we're working on a few videos to release in the future as well! We may not have many videos of this deer season but plan to start filming regularly during turkey season 2021.
