🚨 IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL BLAZER FAMILIES 🚨
Blazer Families,
Following an incident involving youth players at last night’s high school football game, we want to take a moment to remind all families of the expectations for our players when attending these events.
High school football games are a great opportunity for our younger athletes to support their community, spend time with teammates, and watch and learn from players at the next level. We want our kids to enjoy these experiences while also ensuring they are doing so safely, responsibly, and respectfully.
We ask all parents and guardians to help us by:
• Actively supervising your children. Please know where they are and what they are doing throughout the game.
• Encouraging players to watch and learn. While there is certainly time to socialize with friends, the stadium and surrounding areas should not become an unsupervised playground.
• Reinforcing respectful behavior. Disrespectful or discriminatory language, bullying, harassment, physical altercations, or any other inappropriate behavior toward another child will not be tolerated.
• Remembering that supervision remains the responsibility of the parent or guardian. Coaches and Board members attending high school games may also be there as parents and spectators and should not be expected to supervise youth players outside of scheduled BMF activities.
It is also important that families understand the broader impact these incidents can have on our entire program.
BMF relies on strong relationships and partnerships with our schools, municipalities, and other community organizations. Those relationships provide our athletes with access to fields, facilities, events, and other resources that help make our program possible.
Continued behavioral incidents at community or partner events can put those relationships at risk. Loss of field access, facility use, event participation, or other community partnerships could significantly impact our ability to operate and provide opportunities for all of our athletes.
⚠️ THIS IS OUR FINAL WARNING.
We cannot continue to have incidents involving BMF athletes at community or partner events. Moving forward, inappropriate behavior will be taken seriously and addressed accordingly. Parents and guardians will be expected to take responsibility for their children and ensure these expectations are followed.
We all share the same goal: providing our kids with a positive football experience and helping them grow as athletes, teammates, and members of our community.
Protecting that experience takes all of us.
Please speak with your athlete about these expectations and make sure they understand that when they are representing BMF, their actions reflect not only on themselves, but on their teammates, families, coaches, volunteers, and our entire organization.
