A celebration 25 years in the making 🎉
As we wrap up our 25th year as an NCAA Division I program, we wanted to showcase where our students-athletes have hailed from before becoming Bearcats. Here are the numbers and some fun facts:
Did You Know?
- Nearly 75% of our Division I student-athletes hail from New York State
- The "Most Common" first names of our D-I student-athletes for males has been Mike/Michael (57) and for females Lauren (32). The most common last name is Smith (19)
- Bearcats have come from as far away as Australia (nearly 10K miles), Reunion Island and New Zealand
- Men's Tennis has yielded recruits from 29 countries spanning six continents
- There have been six states that Binghamton has not had a student-athlete from (Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Louisiana, Nebraska, South Dakota)
- Marathon, located 30 miles north of campus, has produced just two Bearcat student-athletes, but they both are Hall of Famers (wrestler Donnie Vinson and distance runner Erik van Ingen)
- Two families each have offered four Bearcat D-I student-athletes; the DePrez wrestling brothers (Vincent, Anthony, Lou, Sam) and the McKnight soccer siblings (Connor, Parker, Olivia, Victoria)
