Alternative Athletics Alternative Athletics is a different type of gym in Billings, MT. We embrace the struggle, the challenge, and the hard work.

We yell, we sweat, and we cheer each other on. We train hard every day, using the whole body in sync, as it is meant to be used. Your body was not designed to isolate muscles or even muscle groups. It doesn’t matter if you are throwing a fastball, carrying a victim from a fire or placing a box on a high shelf, everyday actions require your muscles to move in sync with one another. These multi join

t movements, that create functional fitness for daily life, do not require pec decks and pulleys. They require moving your body, moving weight in your environment, and getting your heart rate burning. Our gym is simple and filled with things that you might not have seen before, but instinctively makes sense when you use them. They make sense because they allow you to move in ways that your body was designed to move at the most basic level. Gymnastic rings, parallettes, pull up bars, kettle bells, plyo boxes, and Olympic free weights make up the base of equipment in the gym. Don’t let these names or images scare you, most members consider this to be adult recess. We have a low client to fitness trainer ratio and first lessons are always free. This test turns out to be a really great indicator on the likelihood someone will develop dementia as they age.

Try out the hang, and if you can't hit the time limit, that's probably a good indicator to get to the gym.

Hey everyone,

Here is a quick reminder that Saturday Jan 3rd we will be helping Stacie move her big stuff into her new apartment. Meet up at 3550 Granger Ave W at 9 AM. It sounds like if enough people show up, we should be able to do it in one push.

The rest of the week:

Monday: 5:30 AM to 7PM
Tuesday: 5:30 AM to 7PM
Wednesday: 5:30 AM to Noon (Last day to get a Krampus Score!)
Thursday Closed - Happy New Year!
Friday: 5:30 AM to 7PM
Saturday: 10AM to Noon (Help Stacie Move Day)
Sunday: 3PM to 5 PM

‘Tis the season of……announcements

1.) The Annual Krampus Competition is in full effect. Many of you have most of the workouts done. However, we are short on entrance fees. If you haven't got yours in, let's get it done this week. Same as last year $35, let us know what new equipment you are interested in. Everyone in the competition gets a say.

Saturday January 3rd we are all getting together to help Stacie move into her new place! Details on where to meet up will be forth coming on this website and Facebook.

5.) Tag Team Championship Fight Gone Bad!
Friday January 16th is bring your friend to the gym day. You and a partner who has not been to Alternative Athletics in the last 6 months can bust up the following workout however you want. Only one person working out at a time. If you don't have a friend you go it alone!
