Sept. 19 is a special day for so many reasons. It’s my birthday and do you know what I would love more than anything??? All of your beautiful faces coming to the Illuminaughty Show hosted by Black Widow Entertainment! Moonflower Dance Collective will be there! As many of you know, I have experienced ongoing harassment from members of a local dance collective here in Billings. Over time, that harassment escalated into an extensive online smear campaign directed at me and my work.

A few months ago, I also discovered that the name Moonflower Belly Dance, which I had built my company under for years, had been registered by one of their members as their LLC to further harm me.

Because of these circumstances, I am officially rebranding as Moonflower Fusion Dance and Arts Collective. For advertising, performances, classes, and everyday use, we will simply be known as Moonflower Dance Collective.

I want to be honest about why this change is happening: this is not a rebrand I chose freely or under ordinary circumstances. It is the result of prolonged harassment, public attacks, and the registration of a name that has been central to my work and community for years. I will not pretend that this process has been easy or that it has not been deeply hurtful.

For a long time, I chose to remain largely silent, hoping the people involved would eventually move on and allow me to continue doing what I love in peace. Instead, I have had to navigate ongoing hostility while continuing to teach, perform, create, and build this community. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported Moonflower and me throughout this difficult period.

I am sharing this because I believe my community deserves to understand the reason behind this change. I also want to make clear that I will not allow the actions of others to erase the work, relationships, and history we have built together.

Moonflower isn’t going anywhere. We’re entering a new chapter, and we will continue creating, teaching, performing, and growing under our new name.
