I want to take a minute to shine some light on two of our boxers most recent success 🥊

First up, the newest National Rankings were released and Taliyah Rodriguez has been ranked #1 in the nation in her weight class for the 2nd consecutive year. She is the epitome of hard work and I truly don’t know anyone who works harder. It is a blessing and an honor to have her on the team and I’m excited to see what her future has in store for her 👊🏽

Next, we have Johaunna Martinez who has just accepted an invite from USA Boxing to go train with the Youth International Team before they compete in Monte Negro. She will be flown out to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs where she will stay on campus for two weeks and train with the best in the nation 🇺🇸

Both girls deserve every opportunity that is presented to them - and every accomplishment they have has been earned, not given! Please help me congratulate these two on their latest accomplishments 👏🏽

Representing Grit & Grind and fighting for GOLD today we have Johaunna “JoJo” Martinez. She will be fighting in Ring 2 Bout 24 at 12pm CST/11am MST. She made the decision to return to boxing about 4 weeks ago, but if anyone can come off the couch and win GOLD, it would be JoJo 🥊

Side note: with the exception of Kaiden, every single one of our boxers lost to someone who is fighting for GOLD today. We got matched with the best this tournament, and it’s only going to make our group that much stronger 💪🏽

Congratulations to everyone across the nation who made it to Championship Day. Your hard work, determination, and drive cannot be denied! 🥇

The wins are cool but this right here is really why I coach. The laughs around the dinner table, the camaraderie, the support they have for one another. 10 happy kids making memories that will stick with them for a lifetime. I wouldn’t rather be anywhere else in the world 💯

Fighting in the semi finals today we have TT and JoJo. TT will be looking at taking out the #1 seeded boxer in her bracket who carries a 22-0 record, while JoJo will be making her very first ring appearance in over two years. Both girls know what needs to be done and are excited for the opportunity that has been presented to them. Let’s go do our thing, ladies!

TT will fight in Ring 3 Bout 20 and JoJo will fight in Ring 3 Bout 29. There is only one session today starting at 12pm CST/11am MST. You can watch both girls at the link below 👇🏽

On day 4 of the National Junior Olympics we have Blake Hultgren representing for Grit & Grind. He will fight in Ring 2 Bout 16 during the 6pm CST/5pm MST session. Blake will be fighting the kid who represented TEAM USA in Thailand back in March so he will need to have his best performance, but we know he is up to the challenge - and we know he can win this fight.
