The 2024 high school golf season came to a close yesterday. It was a nice day with some impressive scoring.
Abby Laverell played very well, but the 17th hole proved challenging for her. Despite this, she managed to maintain her composure and match her first-round score, shooting a 92 in the second round. This led to a total score of 184 and put her in a tie for 6th place. She was just one stroke away from finishing in the top 5.
Adelyn Tronrud faced a couple of challenging holes but otherwise played well. She shot a 104 in the second round, for a tournament total of 209, and she finished in a tie for 28th place.
Ari Judd (Three Forks) won the girls' individual title with a total of 159, followed by Cate Leydig (Lone Peak 165) and Delaney Clark (Shelby 176). Lone Peak won the girls' team title, followed by Florence-Carlton and Three Forks.
Sawyer Durfee played well and repeated his first-round score with an 83 on day two. He had a tournament total of 166 and finished in 24th place.
Landen Terland faced a difficult start but kept working hard and posted a 99 in the second round. His tournament total was 194, which put him in a tie for 60th.
Leevi Bohrer (Powell County) won the boys' individual title with a total of 145, followed by Landon Olson (Columbus 149) and Tyson Lee (Jefferson 150). Jefferson and Columbus tied for first, forcing a team playoff on the tenth hole. Jefferson beat Columbus by one stroke in the playoff to become the boys' team champions. Huntley Project took third place.
