Piston Broke Racing 7 idiots with a $500 racecar... what could go wrong? The rest is history!

Piston Broke Racing is a group of bozos that work together that thought it would be a good idea to piece together a $500 race car for the 24 Hours of LeMons endurance race series. After listening to a fellow co-worker (and Godfather of PBR), Kerry Wilson, regale them with stories of glory, pain, triumph, and failure, they decided they had to get in on the action. Fast forward a couple months, a truck load of PBR and the Silver Bullet, and a freebie Eclipse, we had ourselves a racecar.

Day 1 of racing went ok. The Eclipse is underpowered for this track and to put in fast laps you need to thrash on it so we settled for consistent lap times and a couple of heaters. At hour 6 we were 4th and making ground on 3rd due to pit strategies. Unfortunately our last driver was trying to knit a sweater and fold laundry while driving resulting in an off track excursion in the gravel trap. Pea gravel got in the timing belt and it jumped 4th teeth. We retimed the car but by the time we got it running racing was over for the day.

We'll see what shenanigans Sunday brings....
