Nor'easters Strength & Conditioning The University of New England Strength and Conditioning Staff is committed to facilitating the personal and athletic development of each student-athlete.

Participation in strength, educational and speed training sessions will provide UNE’s student-athletes with the physical, psychological and physiological tools necessary to reach their peak potential athletically, competitively and personally. The University’s student-athletes will be prepared to compete at a high level within NCAA Division III, the Commonwealth Coast Conference, and the ECAC East

League by enhancing athletic performance, while reducing the risk of injury through the purposeful application of the latest and most practical performance enhancement techniques. All student-athletes will have the opportunity to learn their Athletic Performance Profile through the systematic testing of important athletic parameters and a “ground-up” biomechanical assessment. The Strength and Conditioning Staff will individually design each team’s program to reflect the sport-specific parameters needed to compete successfully and to reduce the risk of injury inherent to the unique demands of each sport. UNE’s student-athletes will develop and exhibit a championship attitude through the display of integrity, hard work, accountability, balance, commitment and pride. The Strength and Conditioning Staff will encourage a positive, enthusiastic and team-driven atmosphere during all training sessions. A strong emphasis will be placed upon the development of life-long skills such as goal-setting, mental rehearsal and attention to small detail. The student-athletes will train in a competitive and challenging environment that facilitates both mental and physical strength gains while making their health and safety a top priority.

It ‘twas the night before preseason and all through the weight room, not an athlete was lifting, not yet a reason!

The TRX were strung on the racks with care, in hopes that Nor’easters soon would be there.

The athletes were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of championships danced in their heads!

Coach Liv in her new gear, and I in my polo have just settled in for our last August night solo.

When out in the weight room, there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the office to see what was the matter!

Away to the turf I flew in flash ⚡️, grabbed my phone and popped open the video on the dash!

The sun on the plates set them a-glow, and gave a luster to all things below!

When what to Coach K’s wondering eyes should appear, but 115 football athletes all ready to strike fear!

…and I could go on, but you get the point!!! IT’S FINALLY PRESEASON EVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let’s make 2021-2022 the best yet and STORM the year.

The opportunity to expose you all to what the weight room can do for you as a WOMAN, first and as an athlete, second meant the world to me. You’ll change our world 🌎 🌍 someday and I’ll be there cheering you on!

Tugging on my Nor’easter flag from the floor of the garage gym has become my traditional way of ending a tough lift 💪🏻😤⛈ I always finish with things I don’t love - I make myself do it because I know it makes me better.

It’s a SUPERSTITION that I’ve created to remind of my WHY…which is multi-factorial, but certainly includes being the best coach I can for my student-athletes. Superstition is an important concept in sport psychology and, when employed correctly, can help us perform at our best - we will be exploring superstition in Nor’easter Nation all fall ✨

Wishing we could be in Orlando and Disney World in person for the NSCA National Conference, but Coach K attended the NSCA] 2021 State & Provincial Directors Assembly this bright and early this morning via Zoom, lead by !

I would like to congratulate Heath on 20+ years of the utmost dedication to the NSCA], Maine, the New England Region and the Canadian Maritime Provinces. Today, he preformed his final duty as the Chair of the State & Provincial Directors Committee.

Heath served as the Maine State & Provincial Director from 2007-2013 and as the Northeast Regional Coordinator from 2015-present. He was awarded State Director of the Year in 2009 and Personal Trainer of the Year in 2014. However, I know the MOST important thing to Heath and the capstone of his NSCA service is the ability to mentor young professionals in the field. And he’s done that, and continues to do so, with the utmost passion and enthusiasm.

Heath, congratulations!!!!!!!!!!! The , , and are beyond proud of you. Thank you for helping the next one in line and for leaving it better than you found it.

The tradition will continue 💪🏻
