The berries are at peak right now! There are so many berries we can’t keep up! Spread the word to your friends‘s family and neighbors. I’m guessing we probably only have a week and a half to two weeks left before we’ll be closing for the season. Get them while they’re hot! Google maps: west lane, Arundel, Maine.

We are open this weekend and have plenty of ripe berries. We might only be open another couple of weeks so please pick extra to put in your freezer AND tell your friends and neighbors. There are ripe berries everywhere so wander beyond the flags. Hours are 9a-6p.

Heading home after a week in Ludvika, Sweden for trading at the Hitachi HVDC factory. No time for tourism until last night in Stockholm where we visited the OLD part of the city. It was absolutely stunning! Wish I had more time to visit in the daylight.

Had our annual shearing day last week with Jay Mariacher Shearing! Went very smoothly as usual with Jay and his crew. They look so funny after but boy are they happy to all that fiber off! That last pic is of Starburst, my first love, the first alpaca we purchased. She’s the oldest on our farm but still very much the young girl I met 12 years ago.

We lost a legend this week. TGF Supreme Summit (aka Tugboat) died this past Monday. By far this Alpaca was my best investment since starting our alpaca business over 10 years ago. He very consistently stamped his prodigy, with many of his features. Tugboats offspring are by far the best performing offspring at shows of any alpacas we’ve created with multiple color champions, in his prodigy. I put these pictures up which were taken some on the day. He was delivered to our farm and others shortly after. You can see he’s built like a tugboat, where he is short squatty, and rugged like a workhorse! He was built smaller than most, but would defend himself with ease against the 200 pounders. He was never intimidated by any size male, but at the same time, have a very gentle demeanor towards everyone. The other great feature about him was his offspring were very friendly, and for those of you that know he was the sire of Sebago. He will be missed and my breeding program will also miss him. We will continue his lines through his daughters that are left on the farm. Rest in peace a boy!
