🌵🌱Why we are all like plants🪴🌿

🍃If they were all given the same exact nutritients and light sources only a few would thrive - sure, all of the premade workout and nutrition plans look good on the outside but one size does NOT fit all. You require specific levels just like every other growing being!

🍃They go through times of ebb and flow - when something doesn’t suit us anymore, like an old leaf, we simply thank it for the purpose it served and then continue to grow new ones

🍃Sometimes all they need is a good repotting - feeling burnt out but still love what you do and missing that spark? Find a space where you can expand, don’t let yourself get root bound 😉

🍃You are your own special plant, find your own special combo of nutrients and light that make you thrive ✨

Thanks to my pothos and ficus elastica for helping me with this post 🤍🪴✨

I made a big change for my body today after 13 years ✨

I stopped my hormonal birth control and changed to using Natural Cycles because of the havoc the pill had caused and the desire to feel like myself again is my priority

When I was put on birth control years ago nobody explained what it does to our cycles. We were told it “makes your cycle normal” or that it’ll “solve the annoying period symptoms”

We weren’t told it could lead to

•leaky gut
•anxiety and depression
•low libido and possibly permanent changes to the way your body/mind connect around s*x
•bloating/cramping/GI issues
•worse issues with symptoms coming back after stopping (which is why we do it in a smart way)

As someone who has been trying to solve the chronic pain mystery this was a choice I didn’t take lightly and have been learning about how to best support myself through this change

I’ll be switching up how I eat to reduce inflammation and give the proper nutrients by limiting eggs, refined sugars, dairy, and continuing to cut out gluten so it’ll be a great time for creative recipes!

Excited to continue to feel more myself day by day 🤍✨ ☀️

PS: I’m not anti birth control by any means, I’m pro informed birth control 🤍

*this is my path through this, don’t make uninformed choices and change medications without consulting your doctor*

I had a breakdown the other day 🙃

We’ve been gone every weekend and busy every week for the past month and a half. It’s been amazing and we’ve seen so many of our loved ones and I wouldn’t change it for a thing except… I forgot my own self care and my emotions bubbled over

No matter how hard we try we still have to take time to take care of ourselves whether that’s with sleep, journaling, reading, meditating, yoga, you name it. Whatever method works best for you, go with your gut 🤍

Nobody expects you to be “perfect” and nothing is important enough to put ahead of your own mental health. It doesn’t matter if it’s all good things or all fun experiences that are filling your days it can still make you tired or overrun.

One good nights sleep may not cut it, it may take two or three, so don’t get down on yourself if you feel as though you’re taking too long to “fill back up”. Reach out to those you trust and remember you aren’t alone.

Cry if you need to, sometimes a good cry is exactly what you need.

Self care looks different person to person but it’s important for everyone, try a few different methods to see what works best for you.

Never discredit a bubble bath, pizza, a favorite movie or show, and a good nights sleep 😴

Whatever you do, don’t forget to fill your own cup. You’re the most important person in your world 🤍✨

What’s your favorite form of self care? ⬇️

Are you your biggest fan or your worst critic? 🤔

If you’re asked to make a list of things you dislike about yourself and given a minute to write that you could start scribbling away and quickly fill a page

Then you’re asked to make a list of the things you love you’ll most likely take longer and come up with a few things, maybe a handful of traits. Whether that’s because you don’t want to seem egotistical by saying you love yourself or you truly can’t think of things you love that list will be significantly shorter.

Why is it egotistical to love yourself? You should love yourself! You spend all your time with you, growing and changing and living, so why not love who you are? And if you’re in a journey of finding those things you love, keep at it because you’re worth it.

Someone’s we need to take a step back and remind ourselves that we’ve only got once chance at this. Love the s**t out of yourself 🤍

My challenge for you:
Think of someone who means a lot to you or even a younger self.
Notice your self talk and ask yourself “would I say this to a friend/past self?”
Usually it’s a big no because it would sound mean! Funny how it’s okay for us to bully ourselves though 🙃 If you can’t get the thought out, write it down and put it in the trash because it no longer serves you.
This is a constant practice and you won’t always be aware but those times that you are will make a difference 🤍

Don’t forget to enjoy your food, have fun, and don’t read into the info graphics of how many crunches you need to do to burn off one hot dog

The only real and quick way to get a beach body 🏝⬇️

1️⃣ Have a body

2️⃣Go to the beach ☀️

You were probably looking for some workout plan, pill/shake/tea, weight or sweat belt, or whatever crazy thing we do to get “beach ready” when in reality it’s society we need to change ✌🏻

Now if there are things you’d like to change because of strength or aesthetic goals that’s a-okay. It’s okay to have goals of what you want your body to look like but the mentality behind it is what’s important 🤍

I got so EMBARRASSED when I took these pictures at the beach the other day until I realized this ⬇️

☀️🌊🏝

We get so caught up in what others think of us. That we’ll be called a name, judged, stared at, or alienated, whether we’re at the beach or anywhere else in our day. But today I’m going to let you in on a little secret 🤫

YOU are the only person who can make you feel embarrassed

It doesn’t matter if people are looking at you or talking about you, your feelings of being embarrassment are yours alone because you can’t harbor another persons emotions.

Which is a beautiful thing!

You don’t have much control over anything other than your own emotions to be honest, you don’t even have control over your own body. You can’t always keep yourself from getting sick or breaking a bone or throwing your back out. But you can control how you feel and how others actions make you feel.

If you’re okay with who you are there isn’t a single person on this earth who can make you feel bad about yourself. Remember what you know is true about you, that you’re a badass who is worthy of love and happiness.

Next time those feelings start creeping up, check in with yourself and remind yourself who you are 🤍

One of the biggest myths (and lies) in the fitness space is…

A pound of muscle weighs more than a pound fat ❌

Since we can’t change an actual unit of measurement, this is a big lie 🤷🏼‍♀️ A pound is a pound. Period. Now what’s the truth?

The DENSITY of muscle is higher than the density of fat! Meaning the space that fat takes up on your body is larger than the space the same amount of muscle takes up.

145 pounds could look very different on someone with 16% body fat vs someone who has 25% body fat. Hence why being addicted to the number you see on the scale is always going to backfire for 2 reasons- your weight is not your worth and the scale doesn’t tell you the difference between your muscle mass and fat mass

Why should care about having higher muscle mass? Because it’s more work for your body to maintain muscle which means your body is constantly working harder so even when you’re not at the gym your body is still going. You = little calorie burning machine 🔥

But Eliza how am I supposed to see the changes?? ⬇️

Track your progress by photos, how your clothes fit, or actual measurements if you have someone to accurately take them 👌🏻

Happy lifting! 🤍

How to get better at sleeping 💤 😴

When a client hits a plateau and what they’re doing in the gym and their diet are still going well the first thing I look at is sleep or gut health but this time we’ll talk about sleep!

It doesn’t matter who you are or what your schedule has convinced you, you need 7-8 hours of sleep a night for your body to function normally 😉

How easy is it to say “I’ll only answer a couple more emails/scroll for a few more minutes” and then 3 hours later it’s way past your bedtime and you have to wake up in 5 hours? All too easy and if you’re feeling personally attacked... good. DO something about it! You and your body deserve it!

More than these 5 things go into getting your sleep on track but it’s a start 👌🏻

🌖Put away your electronics an hour before bed - I’m definitely a work in progress on this one! Trust me, nothing is that important that you need to lose sleep over it

🌗Eat dinner at least an hour or two before bed. If you feel you need something later have some tea or something easy to digest

🌘Make your bedroom cooler than the rest of the house

🌒Make your room as dark as possible including lights from chargers/TVs/consoles/night lights

🌓Have a night time routine that you do daily to help wind down

If it’s overwhelming making so many changes at once try incorporating a new healthy sleep habit every other week 💪🏻

Drop a 💤 if you need better sleep 🔽

So you need someone else to help get you motivated, so what 🤷🏼‍♀️

There are thousands (hundreds of thousands) of people who don’t find being at the gym or working out enjoyable without a coach or friend and there’s nothing wrong with that!

Your reason and purpose for exercise and health should always come from within but here are 5 reasons why you should buddy up at the gym ⬇️

Motivate each other 👌🏻

Have fun while you lift 👌🏻

Learn about yourself and become a better athlete 👌🏻

Stay safe and have good form 👌🏻

Try new exercises you hadn’t done before 👌🏻

If you’re still busting your butt on home workouts that you found on Pinterest with no results, message me about a custom program that focuses on your specific goals and doesn’t have you doing 100 reps of exercises today 💪🏻🥰 Online, at home, or in the gym, there is no reason you can’t reach your goals!
