Bexley Bulldogs: Bexley Youth Sports Foundation This page is for players, parents and followers of the Bexley Bulldogs baseball and softball program

Our Vision:
Develop individual baseball and softball players with the skills, knowledge, and mental toughness required to reach maximum potential and advance to the highest level of play desired. Our Mission:
Build a strong high school feeder program that serves Bexley and surrounding schools so players may compete at the varsity level and beyond. We will provide all players with an opportunity to

grow and learn. Our Team:
The Bexley Bulldogs were formed in 2018 with a single team of
baseball players and parents who wanted to grow beyond a recreation level of play, and we have been building experiences each year. We are a team that understands the busy lives of today’s young athletes and the competition for time and availability is very difficult for kids who play multiple sports. We designed our program to allow kids to play multiple sports and maintain the opportunity to get on the diamond.

What a weekend for baseball in Kenton, OH for the Bring the Heat tournament. The Bulldogs had all 4 teams there in 15U, 13U, 12U and 11U divisions. All of the teams played hard against tough competition.

Mike and the 15U team got to play their 1st games of the season, Troy and the 12U team started out with difficult games but fought hard in the semifinal but ended short 7-5 and Devon and the 11U team also started with a lot of difficulty only to win their first game today and then giving the 1 seed all they can handle in the semifinal. Everyone deserves kudos for fighting hard in every game.

The 13U team played a great tournament going undefeated 4-0 and winning the division. It paid to get the top seed and not have to play back to back into the finals. The boys played great and made very few mistakes all tournament. I'm so proud of this team that has been a work in progress for the last 4 seasons. All of the boys hard work paid off today. Love these kids!

The dream for this program was to get kids playing baseball and let them have fun win or lose. I hope everyone had fun this weekend playing a game!

Bulldog Nation be proud of all these kids!

This weekend we had the 11U, 12U and 13U Bulldogs in Springboro for the Battle for the Rings. On Sunday morning I was able to watch a little of both 11U and 12U before we took on the Springfield Sox in the semi-final. It was awesome to see Bulldog Nation out, wearing the blue and supporting all of our teams! At one point, Macy asked me if this is what I envisioned for the program? And that is a huge YES!

Well, the first tournament is in the books for the Bexley Bulldogs 13U. The weekend started off with 2 wins in pool play and a 2 seed going into Sunday being matched up against the Springfield Sox who we beat Saturday 6-1 in pool play.

The Sox came to play after making a few adjustments and getting a few great bounces and after 5 1/2 innings were up 9-3. Our boys were hanging heads and a bit out of it knowing we had huge huddle to overcome to move on to the championship.

Harry started off the bottom of 6 with a huge opposite field bomb to get the boys excited again, only needed 5 more runs to tie and 6 to win. Picked up another 2 runs and they loaded the bases at 9-6 with the bases loaded. Needing a walk-off grand slam to win right?
Big D came to the plate and I know that was going through his mind with his first swing that hurt my back watching it! "Calm down and work for a base hit to produce runs" is what all of us coaches were saying. Wouldn't you know it, the next swing he put a shot that I thought was out and it landed a few feet from the fence...damn! Scoring 2 more runs but that's all we would get. The car ride home D said, "that few feet will haunt me the rest of the week because everyone dreams of winning it with a walk-off grand slam!" :-)

Unfortunately, the game ended 9-8 Sox and I couldn't be prouder of these boys. They worked hard the entire weekend, played strong as a team, hit the ball and it just didn't work out. But that's baseball and why we all love it.

I know the weekend didn't turn out like any of our teams wanted it to. But every team gained experience, played hard and had fun. I am really looking forward to what we can do going forward. Keep working hard and Go Dogs!

Next weekend...Bring the Heat!
