Mindful Motion wasn’t built because I had everything figured out. It was built because I didn’t. It was built during some of the hardest years of my life. Years of stress, fighting battles I never imagined I would have to fight, holding everything together for everyone else, and slowly realizing I had completely lost myself somewhere in the middle of it. My body knew before my mind did. I was exhausted. Overwhelmed. Always waiting for the next thing to happen. Always pushing through. Always telling myself, get through this part. Yoga became somewhere I could breathe. Sound became somewhere I could be still. Breathwork taught me that sometimes healing isn’t about doing more. Sometimes it is finally feeling safe enough to stop. And that is how Mindful Motion was built. Not from some perfect wellness story. From survival. From needing a place to land when life felt too heavy. From learning what it meant to come back into my own body after spending years living in fight-or-flight. And eventually I realized I wasn’t the only person who needed that. So we started creating the spaces I once desperately needed myself. A dark room. A yoga mat. A sound bath. Horses. Nature. A deep exhale. A place where nobody needs anything from you for a little while. I will never romanticize what brought me here. Some of them changed me in ways I wish they never had to. But I can say this: I took some of the hardest pieces of my life and built something that helps other people breathe again. And maybe that is the part I’m proudest of. ❤️

🕯️ Nervous System Reset: A Candlelit Experience
at CenterPeace (Farmington) Candlelight. Gentle movement. Breathwork. Sound. Stillness. A night where nobody needs anything from you.

There is something about standing beside a horse that brings you back into your body. They don’t need your story. They don’t need you to have it all together. They just meet you where you are. Horses. Nature. Breath. Movement. Sound. Connection. No riding. No experience needed. Just a chance to put down some of what you’ve been carrying. And maybe, for the first time in a while, take a really deep exhale.

If your whole body just said, “I need this”…
we made it for you 🧘‍♀️ 🧘‍♂️

Yoga was never meant to be just what happens on the mat. The poses are only one piece of it. Yoga is learning to breathe before you react. To tell yourself the truth. To stop gripping so tightly to what is hurting you. To meet yourself with a little more compassion. To be present in a life you’ve spent years rushing through. It’s noticing the way you speak to yourself. The way you treat people. The things you keep holding onto. The places you abandon yourself just to keep everyone else comfortable. Some days yoga looks like a beautiful practice. Other days it looks like setting a boundary. Walking away. Resting. Forgiving yourself and starting over and sitting with something uncomfortable instead of running from it. That’s the part people don’t always tell you. You may start yoga because you want to change your body. Then somewhere along the way, you realize yoga is teaching you how you want to live. 🧘‍♀️ Angela

In the moments your shut down, in the moments you’re reactive, and the moments your instinct is to push away. There’s a chance it’s not your environment; there’s a chance it’s your nervous system interpreting your environment as a past situation to keep you safe. Regulation and reframing is the path to our truest self; until we understand regulation, our nervous system will continue to view the present as the past because that’s its only frame of reference. Breathing and grounding yourself is how we show the nervous system safety when we experience triggers. If regulation is something that interests you, send me a DM, or come check out one of our events 🧘🏻‍♂️🧘🏻‍♀️

They say you can’t ignore your responsibilities and just do yoga all day. Okay, but has anyone actually tried it long enough to be sure? 😂 Because personally, we think a few sun salutations, a snack, and a long savasana could solve at least 73% of our problems.

There’s a reason being around horses can feel different. 🐴🤍 Research on human-horse interaction suggests that spending intentional time with horses supports relaxation, emotional regulation, and nervous system awareness. Horses are incredibly responsive to subtle changes in our breath, posture, movement, and energy, which asks us to slow down and become present too. That connection is part of what inspired The Deep Exhale with Magnolia Stables
