We **will—and should—never forget** the horror, tragedy, and heartbreak that occurred on this day 25 years ago in New York City.

The photos in this collage are mine. I took them during a recent trip to New York and New Jersey, and standing in the places where those towers once stood was an experience I will never forget.

When I was younger, 9/11 didn't seem completely real. Like so many others, I watched it unfold on television. But when you actually stand where the World Trade Center once stood, the reality hits differently. It is a somber experience—one that awakens something deep within your soul.

The younger generations may never fully understand what that day felt like, and they may never feel the full gravity of what happened. But I hope we continue to teach them. Not just about the events of that day, but about the lives that were lost, the families who were forever changed, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the incredible unity that followed.

So many things changed after September 11, 2001.

I hope one thing never changes—and continues to grow stronger:

Yesterday Mellennia Taekwondo Quad Cities participated in the Rock Island Illinois Labor Day parade. We had a great group of students and instructors out there assisting showing the public who We are. Excellent job everyone.
