Today was my last day behind the desk at Ultimate Fitness.
After 36 incredible years, it's hard to put into words what this day means to me. While it's bittersweet to say goodbye as an employee, I leave with a heart full of gratitude.
To all of our amazing members and staff—thank you. You made Ultimate Fitness so much more than a workplace. You made it a second home. They say if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life, and that couldn't have been more true for me.
I especially want to thank the Martin family. You are the reason I stayed all these years. You welcomed me as one of your own, and over time you truly became family. I will always be grateful for the opportunity to be part of something so special.
I also have complete faith in Ed as he continues the legacy of Ultimate Fitness as a locally owned, family-run business. I know the gym is in great hands, and I can't wait to watch it continue to thrive.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. I love you all, and while you won't see me behind the desk anymore, you'll definitely still see me around the gym—just as a member instead of an employee.
If you're available, I'd love to see you tomorrow as we celebrate the Martin family's and my retirement! Please join us at Bulldog Arms in Bettendorf from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. It would mean so much to celebrate this special milestone with all of you.
