⚾️❤️ BOERNE, LET’S HELP THESE FAMILIES GET TO WILLIAMSPORT!

One thing I think is important to understand: Little League International helps cover the players/team — but that doesn’t mean Mom, Dad and siblings have their trip covered too.

And this isn’t exactly a trip you can plan and save for a year in advance. These families just found out their boys are headed to the Little League World Series! 🥹⚾️

For a family traveling from Texas to Pennsylvania, the costs can add up FAST:

✈️ Last-minute flights for parents + siblings
🏨 Hotels in an extremely busy Williamsport
🚗 Rental car/transportation
🍔 Meals
🧳 Other travel expenses

A trip like this can easily mean thousands of unexpected dollars for one family, especially depending on family size and how long the team continues playing.

And THIS is why I think our community can make such a difference. ❤️

We don’t want a family having to decide…

Can both parents afford to go?
Do we leave siblings home?
Can we afford to stay if they keep winning?

These kids have worked SO hard to get here. This could truly be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I would love to see Boerne rally around their families so money doesn’t have to limit who gets to be there cheering them on.

Even $10 or $20 multiplied across our community can make a huge difference.

“You guys are so lucky!”
“Wish we did stuff like that!”

Those are phrases we’ve heard countless times while telling people about the absolutely WILD experience we had last week during the MiLB and MLB games at the Field of Dreams! ⚾️

We had the opportunity to interact with players from the Phillies and Twins, along with past players and Hall of Famers. It truly was a magical evening and one that the parents who were fortunate enough to work the event got to experience firsthand.

Of course, it wasn’t just showing up five hours early to work a concession stand. 😂 It was running our butts off, sweating profusely in the ridiculous heat and humidity, trying to keep up with endless food orders, pouring what felt like approximately 7 million beers and sodas… and even running out of CO₂ at one stand. 😳 That felt like an eternity waiting for that tank to be replaced!

Throw in an almost broken toe 😉 and a whole lot of chaos, and somehow we survived it all.

But we did it for one reason: to play more baseball! ❤️⚾️

That’s one thing we love about our organization! We’re willing to think outside the box and do things a little differently than others in the area. Always looking for ways to give our boys more opportunities to play, develop and do what they love without putting all of the financial burden on families.

And Hawkeye football is right around the corner… so guess where you’ll find us next? 👀

In the VIP area of the North End Zone, flipping burgers and serving cold beers! Because apparently, this is what we do now. 😂

Whatever it takes to keep our boys on the field and playing more baseball! ⚾️❤️🖤

We may be tired, sweaty, slightly injured and smelling like concession food… but we’re having one heck of a time doing it!

Rain is out of here in Peosta so we’re going to start up at approx 6:30 for the 13u. 11u is still scheduled for 7:00. If you are a 10u player, you are more than welcome to come out at 7:00 and jump in with the 11u team.

If your son ever has the opportunity to play in Cooperstown, don't think twice... just do it.

These three just experienced the week of a lifetime and one they'll never forget.

From the moment you step onto the grounds, you realize this place is something special. This group of Midwest boys arrived with zero expectations, hoping to play good baseball, have fun, and maybe finish around .500. Instead, the Blackhawks shocked everyone, including us, finishing 14th out of 102 teams with an incredible 7-1 record!

As unforgettable as that record is, the memories will always mean more than the wins.

The lifelong friendships formed with boys they had just met. The mediocre cafeteria food that somehow became part of the experience. Ice-cold showers after late-night games. Endless wiffle ball battles. Pin trading. Home run ball scrambles. Scary movies. Late-night pizza parties. Countless laughs. These are the moments they'll be talking about for years.

A huge thank you to the Blackhawks for bringing our boys along for this unforgettable ride. Brian, Drew, and Andy, thank you for taking such great care of them and giving them an experience they'll carry with them forever.

They may wear a Dubuque Rampage uniform, but a piece of the Moline Blackhawks will always have a place in their hearts.
