Have any of these things happened to you within the FIRST YEAR after purchase?

* Your $200+ high performance bowling shoe velcro pads no longer want to securely fasten to the bottom of your shoes, the heel splits, an eyelet or BOA mechanism breaks, stitching begins to come apart at the seam.

National Coaches Day was yesterday Oct. 6th. The day was proclaimed in 1972 by President Richard Nixon, it recognizes coaches for teaching more than just skills, but also for fostering character, teamwork, and leadership in individuals.
One of the biggest assets to BowlerX Pro Shop over the years has been Krista Sandt. Krista has been a personal bowling coach since 2006. A USBC certified Silver Level coach and a member of 3 bowling Halls-of-Fame, her people skills coupled with her knowledge of the sport and mechanics has helped so many people enjoy the sport more and achieve levels of success they likely would not have reached on their own.
Any pro shop can sell you a new bowling ball and send you off to the lanes in hopes that you will score well but it's the extra stuff that sets them apart. Proper fitting, understanding the ball motion needed and how to match individuals up to their environment, locating each bowlers unique positive axis point, the art of finishing a thumb hole or for 2-handed bowlers, understanding modern layouts to obtain maximum performance, etc. All of these things and many more happen BEFORE the bowler takes to the lanes with a new ball. Eventually the new ball will become worn, oil soaked and its performance will diminish.
The knowledge and added confidence gained from proper coaching never dimishes. It only strengthens the bowlers' skills both physically and mentally. You can not put a price tag on skilled coaching. We're very fortunate to have one of the best.

If you've ever thought about using a removeable thumb system but still aren't, what's stopping you?
What's the biggest benefit to having a thumb system installed in your equipment? Consistency from ball to ball. Being able to move your favorite feeling thumb from ball to ball increases confidence and repeatability. This is even more important if you are a tape user. Getting the tape in the exact same position from thumb hole to thumb hole is pretty much impossible, not to mention the level of wear to the top piece of tape in each ball has a large effect on feel. Get your thumb taped up just the way you like it an use it in EVERY ball you own. Amazing!
The second benefit is magnified for those who do not like the feel of tape in their thumb hole. The ability to carry with you multiple thumbs of various sizes, pitches or even bevels can be a huge asset as your thumb swells or shrinks during your session. Having a small, medium and large size thumb to go to at any given moment can be another weapon in your arsenal.
At BowlerX Pro Shop - Bethlehem we offer two removeable thumb system options, Turbo Switch Grip and JoPo Twist. Both systems use a 2-piece design and can be installed in any type of ball from polyester to reactive and urethane.
The Turbo Switch Grip system is a tried and true option that offers 8 multiple color choices and a two tab locking system that can be inserted and removed quickly and easily in most cases without the need for any removal tools. The cost of the Switch Grip product is $15/outer sleeve (the part that stays in the ball) and $25/inner sleeve (the actual thumb piece that locks in to each outer sleeve).
The JoPo Twist system also comes in multiple color choices (9) and offers a more secure locking sysytem which incorporates a 3-tab locking mechanism in conjunction with a threaded base. Because of this added security, the JoPo thumbs may require the purchase of a removal tool to comfortably insert and remove the thumbs. The cost of the JoPo product is $17/outer sleeve and $30 for the inner sleeve. The removal tools are $19.95 for a plastic tool or $69.95 for an aluminum tool which is indestructible.

The creation of this page is LONG overdue. BowlerX Pro Shop and BowlerX.com, while the same company are two very different entities. BowlerX Pro Shop began back in 2007 and BowlerX.com was launched in 2010.
The BowlerX.com FaceBook page was created on June 24, 2012 and since that day has shared very little information about the actual pro shop where it all began.
Starting today we will begin sharing information with our local bowling community including insights into ball drilling, layouts, new equipment, shop services, the history of BowlerX, local success stories and events as well as taking a look back at times to where we started and how we grew from a basement start up to one of the largest online retailers in the United States.
It's been quite a journey and it isn't over yet.
