It’s taken me days to be able to put into words how devastated I am by the unthinkable loss of my good friend
If you were lucky enough to know him, you understand how heartbreaking this is for our small fly fishing community and the Zukowski family. Since I met him nearly nine years ago Jonny had always been an inspiration to me. I looked up to him as an angler and fly tier and considered him a mentor of the fly fishing world even at his young age. It was a privilege to be able to work with him, and an even greater privilege to spend time on the water together, and to be considered a friend. He was the most down to earth, welcoming and outgoing person I have ever met in the angling community and his energy for the sport was contagious. He showed all of us what New England has to offer as a fishery, and made us all realize that the fish of a lifetime is right here in our backyard.
I will never forget your kindness, and your penetrating good energy. It will be hard to move forward without you, but I know you will be there every step of the way. I hope to carry on your legacy with honor, a legend never dies.
Please send your best thoughts and prayers to the family, and if possible please support their gofundme, link in bio. Stay strong and know that I am here for anyone that needs anything in this trying time. 💔
