The inaugural NKBA | KBIS Student Mentor Program successfully wrapped up on May 1st!

We are grateful to KOHLER for their sponsorship in supporting the next generation of kitchen and bath professionals. The pilot ran for seven weeks and matched 83 students with NKBA mentors representing 49 NKBA chapters. Paula Kennedy (CMKBD) said, “As a mentor, sometimes I feel like I get more than I give. And the framework that NKBA put together to help guide us made it hard so say no!”

Registration for the Spring 2027 Program will begin this fall.

You might have noticed that the panels at last month’s HPMKT featured a beautiful backdrop — this was the incredible handiwork of painter Manuel Santelices, who hand-painted this work of art. We can’t think of a more inspired canvas for the connections and conversations that happened throughout the event! 🎨 ✨

🎓Design school teaches you the craft. NKBA student chapters help launch your career.

Joining your school’s NKBA student chapter — or starting one — opens the door to opportunities beyond the classroom: networking with industry professionals, connecting with fellow students, participating in competitions and events, and gaining access to mentorship and career-focused programming built specifically for emerging designers.

Student chapters help you build leadership skills, gain real-world industry exposure, strengthen your resume, and create the connections that can lead to internships and future careers.

Every event, conversation, and experience adds up. By graduation, you’re not just entering the industry with a degree — you’re entering with enhanced knowledge and insights.
