Our kids’ go kart left us stranded out in the pasture when it suddenly quit moving. Instead of towing it back, I ended up pushing it all the way home and started figuring out what went wrong.
After taking the clutch apart, I found that it had actually come apart internally. Most people would probably assume the clutch was ruined and order a replacement, but I decided to see if it could be repaired first.
In this video I’ll show you:
* How I diagnosed the problem
* What came apart inside the clutch
* How I put it back together
* The final test drive to prove the repair worked
So far the original clutch is working great and saved us the cost of buying a new one.
If it eventually fails and I do have to replace it, I’ll make another video showing exactly how to install a brand-new clutch on the engine and get the go kart back up and running.
