The name of the restaurant will stay the same and so will some of its menu items, said Bethel resident Julio Russo, who owns the property.

The Sycamore property owners have indicated that they are negotiating with a new entity to operate the landmark Bethel diner long-term.

Held Every Saturday Night at The Sycamore Drive-In in Bethel,Ct. Filled the gap left by the closing of the popular Danbury Racearena. That was the Sat Night SNYRA Stock Car Races held at the Danbury State Fairgrounds. Closed to Build a mall....so whata do now.? Why Go the Digger Dave’s & Weirdo Dino’s ‘Summer Cruise” ! Billed as a 50’s style Cruise Night..pre-68 only .Cars came from 8 states and packed the place. I did the “DJ” work, printed the weekly newsletter and designed the souvineer T-Shirts. Held 7-10 for ‘family fun’. Became the model for all area Cruise nights that came after. We were featured in over 16 newspapers ,including the New York Times.One night a film crew came in from Boston,and we went nationwide.
