Proud of this girl 💪🏽 8 year old is truly learning what it means to be an upper level gymnast. Working hard through the skills which challenge her level of courage, and putting together this series for the very first time 🩷 With gentle guidance and the encouragement to speak up, she is learning she can be stronger than her doubts.

Continually expanding the horizons ☀️

Coaching is an art which takes vision, empathy, patience, strategy, and deep feeling in order to make the learning process one that is safe and effective. In the case of the athlete returning to sport after setback, things become even more delicate.

This time is precious and requires additional precautions, as rushing the athlete, skipping physical and mental prep before returning to skills can lead to injury or mental fragility.

This is comeback process. Over half a year without skills training but her lead up was precise. She has not done bars in a week as she has spent time strategically focusing on functional exercises and mental simulation. Monday she asked to learn double pikes. Coach told her okay but kept her on his methodical path up until today (Friday).

Today was her first time learning and as you can see from the start of the video, she was ecstatic that it was the moment she would get to try the skill she’s been waiting for.

We are so proud of both Coach and athlete working together to create a grand entrance into the 2026-2027 season. Carefully, considerately, coaching with care of the athlete above all else.

As Sabina was going through her struggle with anorexia we spent a lot of time talking hoping to help her rekindle self love and keep her fire burning through her love of gymnastics.

On her first day back to full training, she was visibly excited but worried about how it would go, and frustrated that her experience caused her to miss her entire season, one which she worked tremendously hard to prepare for after overcoming two ankle surgeries with screws prior to attending our club.

Coach Mihael talked to her about how now she feels in over her head, like she was down in very deep water. He asked her if she ever dove down deep and had to swim back up. She said yes. He asked if it felt so challenging that she had a moment she felt she wouldn’t make it and she said yes. Then he asked her but did you ever go down very deep and touch the bottom? She said yes. He said when you got to the bottom you could push off, did that make coming up easier? And she responded yes much easier. And he looked at her and said, that is where you are now, you reached the very bottom, now it’s your time to push off.

From that day forward her spirits have been lifted and with his guidance she has began adding skills back day by day. We are so happy that combined with her sheer determination, her preparation prior to this horrible occurrence and her functional/mental training afterwards are allowing her to not only meet where she left off, she is improving rapidly.

Today was her first day working this front full step out pass and within a short rotation, she was able to connect a 1 1/2 by herself!

If you thought she sneak preview of her floor was amazing last year, just wait because this girl is on fire 🔥

Self trust to the max 💪🏽 8 year old is learning to go hard, trust her landings, and give herself only enough time to think about the commands without overthinking 🧠

If you asked her about beam two seasons ago she would tell you she isn’t good at it, we are so happy she followed our guidance and proved to herself that she is an outstanding beam worker.

First front handspring front tuck for this ambitious 8 year old 🤩 Watching her now it’s almost unimaginable that two years ago she was working to muster up the courage to do a level 2 handstand flat back free of fear 🤣

We knew from that timid little 6 year old would bloom this courageous 8 year old if we trained with strategy, empathy, and positivity 🩷

Just keep watching 😘

The most fragile and vital nuance of being a coach is helping your athlete surpass self doubt, and truly trust in your judgment even when they question their own. It requires intense attention to detail, empathy, patience, and accurate risk assessment.

Equally as important is the athlete’s ability to take in, and utilize the advice of the coach.

We are so proud of for being determined to make the strongest comeback possible 💪🏽

Working on generating power, controlling landings, and reaction time 💪🏽 is on her way to make an extraordinary comeback and we are so proud 🥹

She’s soooooo close 🤩 is locked on in every piece of advice and every challenge we give her to chase 💪🏽 This girl has a “top of the world” mindset, and we are so proud 🥹

We have said it time and time again, we are here to break the glass ceiling looming over Region 6 and give gymnasts the opportunities they deserve without moving across the country to train.

Stay tuned 😘
