We try to make every single moment a lesson of growth; when life throws us a challenge, we pivot, and unlock doors we didn’t even realize were there, and that’s how we get stronger.

Coach Mihael is in for surgery right now 🙏🏽

Every job plays a significant role, coaching has something magical and selfless to it. Many don’t realize how much heart, & soul goes into coaching. The best coaches sacrifice so much for their athletes, sometimes their own bodies 🏥

Recovery will be extensive for Coach Mihael and of course his/our biggest concern is the impact this challenging moment has on our athletes. Rather than sulking, creativity, determination, and the realization that he can be an example of not letting an injury stand in your way became the frame of mind.

As coach Mihael (grudgingly) takes the week to heal, we want to thank everyone who has allowed us a space for health to come first. As a husband and wife team with a “boutique style” gym, taking time doesn’t come lightly; and all of you who have extended prayers, and offered to help have made this difficult moment easier.

You can take the coach out of the gym but you can’t take the gymnastics out of him. He spent all morning telling his care team about his gymnasts.

Real talk: The beam is low, there’s a mat under it, but no one talks about how much courage it takes to make yourself jump backwards alone for the first time 😅

We are so proud of Xcel Gold gymnast Norah M for going for her back handspring by herself and being determined to get it on high beam 💪🏽 Two years ago she would wince at the thought of back walkovers and look at her now 👏🏽

Coach Mihael C Anton 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💪🏼 has always told our girls that when he is spotting them, they can go fearlessly, because he will catch them no matter what. Tonight, that “no matter what” transformed into most likely a ruptured bicep tendon *awaiting MRI*. His first reaction after stopping the exercise for safety, was to console his gymnast who was in tears that he was hurt. In a moment of great vulnerability and great difficulty, he admirably remained athlete centered and empathetic 👏🏽 His first remark in the car was, “please check on her when we stop”.

Thank you to all of our students tonight who were so understanding of a last minute change to practice as we ran to urgent care. And thank you to ONSMD Orthopedic/Neurosurgery Wilton for taking great care of our head coach 🙏🏽 Those are some valuable arms you are looking after 😉

Onto the recovery road and ready for a great comeback 💪🏽
