The Panthers are excited to announce that a familiar face will be taking over the lead for the North Pitt Cheerleading program. The team was informed today that Emma Mosley, who has been around for the last several years working along side Coach Charlie Mosley, will now take the helm.

Coach has extensive cheerleading experience including her own 15 plus years on a squad, cheering at NCWU, taking the stage at Daytona for the last few years in the collegiate nationals, and helping to coach and choreograph multiple teams. Most importantly, she has been around and started to learn the culture and strengths of our NotR community.

Coach, who has accepted a teaching position with our EC Department, will have the benefit of cheerleaders who know her and a staff that has worked together. Coach Charlie Mosley will remain near to the program while focusing even more on her role as Instructional Coach at NP, while assistant coach Jenness Green will remain as well. With all that said, she comes in with fresh ideas and is ready to make the goals she’s outlining happen.

The Panthers are excited to announce Coach Blake Emerson as the new head coach for North Pitt Softball. Coach Emerson, a PE/Weightlifting teacher and coach already at NP will be making the shift to the softball diamond after a couple of years working with Panther Baseball.

Coach Emerson is a Pitt County native, having graduated from DH Conley and attended East Carolina University where he came to North Pitt and immersed himself in the NOTR community building bonds with students, staff, and families.

Coach comes into this role with great ideas and a tremendous work ethic. He has already started to accomplish great things on the facility, bringing it back to that standard we came to expect and instituting off season workouts and camps for the interested team members. He will be rebuilding the pride in the program by reaching back to the softball playing success including the 2006 state championship squad.

Congratulations Coach Emerson! Time to get to work!

Last night’s Athlete Honors went off great with departmental awards and other recognitions doled out to our student-athletes and coaches. Departmental award winners include:

Panther Athletes: Khamoni Heath and Isaiah Wilson
Athletes of the Years: Dontarius Roberson and Aiza Zamora
North Pitt Scholar Athletes: Tori Fraser and Edgar Torres
Markevon Mobley Sportsmanship Award: Xaden Maldonado and Anita Zamora
Jimmy Bailey Dedication Award: Zihanna Lightfoot and Tylik Sherrod
John Chauncey Team Before Self Award: Traykevion Pittman and Ea’Nation Witherspoon

Also recognized was 100 NCHSAA Scholar Athlete recognitions, 10 NCHSAA Scholars Teams (women’s cross country our highest), 5 conference championships, 7 conference players of the year, 6 conference coaches of the year, and a multitude of other awards and recognitions.

2025-2026 was a good one! Looking for even better for next year!

All is set for tonight’s Athlete Honors Program. Come on out for a 5:30 social and then awards starting about 6:15 in the PAC. $5.00 to enter for non-athletes and non-sponsor guests. Members of SALT and the coaches are ready to let everyone know about the great successes we’ve had in athletics and academics in 2025-2026.

Reminder about the upcoming Athlete Honors Program on May 27th starting with a pre-function of appetizers and fellowship at 5:30 before heading into the awards after 6pm.

First - senior athletes have been sent a questionnaire. Check your emails and please fill that out so we can make sure to best recognize you.
