IMPORTANT NOTICE:
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of Ty View Farm, effective August 31st.
As many of you know, our vision has always been to foster a Culture of Kindness and to offer programs that enrich the lives of everyone who spends time here. An equally important part of that vision has been ensuring our programs were accessible to all, regardless of their ability to pay.
As a nonprofit organization, we have been incredibly fortunate to rely on the generosity of our amazing donors to help make that possible. Unfortunately, with the current economic uncertainty, several of our donors have had to make the difficult decision to reduce or eliminate their financial support. At the same time, neither Kevin nor I have ever accepted compensation for the countless hours we've devoted to the farm. Caring for horses is expensive. Maintaining the farm is expensive. As funding has declined, Kevin and I have personally carried an increasing share of the financial burden to keep the farm operating. We have also remained committed to paying our incredible staff, whose work has been supported by the most dedicated volunteers we could ever have hoped for.
Simply put, this model is no longer sustainable.
As of August 31st, Ty View Farm will no longer offer Day Camps, Adventure Camps, riding lessons, trail rides, or any of our other programs. We will also be reducing the size of our herd.
Over the past eight years of formal operation, approximately 796 individuals have participated in our programs. Every one of those lives has left a lasting mark on us. Watching children gain confidence, families make memories, riders discover a love for horses, and individuals find peace and healing here has been the greatest privilege we could have imagined.
To everyone who has supported us—our participants, families, donors, volunteers, staff, and friends—thank you. Your kindness, encouragement, and belief in our mission have meant more than words can express. While this chapter is coming to an end, the impact of the Ty View Farm community will remain with us always.
If you are seeing this and have any questions, please reach out. We will continue to post memories and invite you to copy any that touch your heart.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Kevin & Terrie
