It was 25 years ago, today, Patrick succumbed to his injuries from a terrible car accident outside of the Wabash Tunnels that occurred on August 28, 2005. I remember like it was yesterday. Pat was a good friend and favorite trainer at Locke’s Personal Fitness. I don’t know how we got through this. We relocated across the street several months later and dedicated the studio to Patrick and Dave. Dave Hutton also succumbed to his injuries from this accident in late September. I’ll honor him in a separate post on that anniversary as well. Seeing two young, healthy men in the prime of their lives lying in rooms next to each other in the Burn and Trauma Unit in Mercy Hospital is something I will never forget. It’s a constant reminder of how life can change in an instant. Take nothing for granted and appreciate everyday as a gift.
