Another successful Sunday with Sadie Mae!

Sadie went 2 for 3 yesterday, and it was without a doubt one of the most memorable days of tracking I’ve ever had. Days like these remind me just how special this dog is and how fortunate I am to get to do what we do alongside her.

Congratulations to our hunters on their recoveries, and thank you for trusting us to be part of your hunts. We truly appreciate every opportunity to get out there and do what we love!

Sadie is having some fun.

At the 22-hour mark, she took the line and worked it for just around a mile. Coyotes had bumped this deer from its first bed and chased him, leaving small chunks of fat along the line.

With some seriously impressive dog work, Sadie stayed after it and put us on the deer.

I’m incredibly fortunate to get to walk behind this dog. She never ceases to amaze me.

Another one bites the dust!

Congratulations to our hunter!

Proof of life!

We tracked this buck last week after he was hit in the shoulder but never recovered him. The property owner sent us these pictures showing he’s still up and moving!

It’s always good to get proof of life after a track. Sometimes knowing the deer is okay is the best ending.

A very special tracking team made an appearance in this YouTube video. ❤️

There’s just something about watching an old track that brings the memories rushing back. If I could have one more day behind Diesel, watching him do what he loved, I’d take it in a heartbeat.

Dogs like him leave a mark on you that never really goes away. I’m grateful for every track, every mile, and every memory we made together.

If anyone has pictures or videos of Diesel doing what he loved, please send them our way. We’d truly love to see them and keep those memories alive.

Well… sometimes the tracking dog needs tracked!

The dogs took off this morning, so we had to call in some backup to help find them.

Big thanks to Gentry Game Recovery LLC for helping us out! We appreciate ya!

Guess even the trackers need recovering sometimes!

kicked off the year with the recovery of a local recovery hound 🐾 — thanks H&H for the call. glad we were able to get Sadie back home safe this morning, to rest up for the season to come!! 🦌

Every time I head to the woods with my hound, I think I’m the one doing the teaching.

But truth is… she teaches me a whole lot more.

She’s taught me patience when the trail gets tough.

Trust when I can’t see what she’s following.
And determination when the easy answer would be to quit.

Watching her work that nose, figure things out, and refuse to give up is something truly special.

I’m blessed to have a hound that teaches me something new every time we hit the woods.

There’s a lot more to tracking than finding a deer… sometimes it’s about the lessons you find along the way.

TOMORROW’S THE DAY WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!

Opening day is finally here, and we’re ready to hit the timber!

Good luck to everyone chasing that Missouri whitetail tomorrow. Shoot straight, hunt safe, and give that deer plenty of time before taking up the trail.

And if the blood trail gets a little… questionable
