We are sorry to report the loss of Peter Gerard, class of Yale 1968. Peter was an avid sailor, polo player and part of the winning National Intercollegiate teams of 1967 and 1968. He was a true sportsman and someone you would love to spend an afternoon with - so glad we got to spend time together at NIS this year. We will miss you, Peter!

Congrats to NYC Polo/GTFO on their win at the Northeast Sherman Memorial qualifier. Represent us well at the national!

Also, congrats to MVP, Travis Soto, Best playing pony, Antonio, played by PJ DeAngelis, horsemanship winner, Zach Grob and sportsmanship winner, Morgan Palacios.

So great to have so many impressive teams at the Yale Arena. 11 out of 12 players were I/I current or alums (plus a big group of the helpers!). Wonderful to see this level of talent in the northeast.

And thanks to Robert Lyn Kee Chow for keeping the games moving and to USPA PDI for the financial support for the new fans. We finally got to use them today after two cool days the first part of the tournament. Really made a big difference to all the players and horses!. Thanks to Arena Polo for the Sportsmanship and Horsemanship prizes!

We are excited to announce that Jim DeAngelis will be joining Yale Polo as Head Coach and Polo Director starting September 1st. Jim brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience and has been involved with Yale Polo as a coach, player and mentor for the last 20 years. We welcome him in this full-time role as we move forward with growing the quality and excellence of the polo programs at Yale and for the community.

From Jim: As the full-time Director of Polo at the Yale Polo & Equestrian Center, I am excited to build upon Yale's remarkable tradition while helping shape its future. My vision is to create one of the premier player-development programs in North America, where students experience an environment that emphasizes performance, horsemanship, leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship and lifelong learning. I want every student who comes through Yale—whether they pursue polo competitively or recreationally—to leave as a better player, rider, horseperson, teammate, and a lifelong ambassador for the sport.
