We teach a traditional style of Tang Soo Do (Korean karate) blended with Brazilian jiu jitsu. Master P has been studying martial arts since he was 8 years old. In 35 years he has studied and ranked in various martial arts and has created a comprehensive curriculum to me your needs. Master P has promoted 7 students to the rank of master and 150 students to the rank of black belt.

Last night was another very special moment for me as an instructor.

I had the honor and privilege of promoting Master Carl Englund to 7th Dan Black Belt.

Carl became my student in 2002, but our history goes back even further. We have been training together since 1994—more than 30 years of martial arts, friendship, growth, and countless memories along the way.

When you share the floor with someone for that many years, it becomes about so much more than rank. You see the dedication, the sacrifices, the challenges, and the commitment it takes to continue walking this path year after year. Carl has been a constant part of that journey, and I have tremendous respect for the martial artist and Master Instructor he has become.

Promoting someone to 7th Dan is significant in itself. Having the opportunity to place that rank around the waist of someone I’ve trained alongside for more than three decades made the moment even more meaningful.

Congratulations, Master Carl Englund, on your promotion to 7th Dan. It has been an honor to share this journey with you since 1994, and an even greater honor to have you as my student since 2002.

Well earned, my friend. I’m proud of you, and I’m grateful for all the years we’ve shared on the floor.

Last night was another one of those moments that reminds me just how fortunate I’ve been as an instructor.

I had the privilege of promoting Master Kaleb Barrett to 5th Dan Black Belt.

Kaleb has been my student since May of 2003. More than 23 years have passed since he first walked through my doors, and I’ve had the opportunity to watch him grow not only as a martial artist, but as a man.

Life has taken Kaleb from Connecticut to Texas, where he now lives with his wife and has built a life and career of his own. He earned his Doctorate in Theology, an accomplishment that speaks to the same dedication, discipline, and commitment I have seen from him throughout his martial arts journey.

One of the greatest rewards of teaching martial arts for as long as I have is seeing students grow up, build families and careers, move away, and still remain connected to the bond that was formed on the training floor all those years ago. Kaleb is certainly one of those students.

Promoting someone to 5th Dan is special. Promoting someone who has been part of your martial arts family for more than two decades means even more.

Kaleb, I’m proud of the martial artist you have become, but I’m even more proud of the man you have become. It was truly my honor and privilege to promote you to 5th Dan last night.

Last night, I had the honor and privilege of promoting David Andrade to 3rd Degree Black Belt.

David has been my student since March of 2005—more than 21 years of training, dedication, perseverance, and loyalty. When someone has been with you for that length of time, the relationship becomes about much more than martial arts. You watch them grow, overcome challenges, achieve milestones, and become an important part of the history of your school.

A third-degree black belt isn’t simply another rank. It represents years of commitment, knowledge, maturity, and the willingness to continue learning long after many others have stopped.

David has earned this rank through more than two decades of dedication, and I couldn’t be prouder to have been the one to place that belt around his waist.

Congratulations, David Andrade, on earning your 3rd Degree Black Belt. It has been a privilege to be your instructor for all these years, and an even greater privilege to call you a friend.
