We just want to show off... hahaha

So far I like the slow pace of trail riding. Love it!! But Alex insist on trotting/loping. Let's see how that goes.

For now, a little bit of obstacles/trail riding lessons prepared me for a long trail schedule for tomorrow.

Hello Y'all

Tucker here-

Excuse my Pj's, I just took this selfie after taking a shower and getting ready to sleep. (Notice my cereal bowl too).

Today was ride #20, yeah!!!

We celebrated with a short trail ride around the neighborhood. First time outside of property all by myself. It was amazing, until I hesitated to go across water, yeeez Alex can I just keep my feet dry?? NO! This guy made me go back 15 times until I walked through it...

We had a conversation today and he mentioned I should be ready to find my own home very soon.

I'm just missing long days in the trails and revisit my trot and canter with a rider on me to make sure I find my balance every time.

We are almost there...

Hello y'all!!

Tucker here-

Today was a looong day!
Lunging with poles in the ground (I'm a pro at it already haaaa) round pen. Up the hill, down the hill... I even canter with a rider.

Stopping? 95% of it I do it with a simple wooooh!
Backing? Piece of cake now!

And then Alex decided to ride me outside of the round pen? Seriously, I was so ready to finish the day!! I still did my best for him, I knew he was going to take care of me.

Alex said I'm building lots of muscle and that need to increase the intake of supplements to make sure I can take on the next training sessions coming up.

Loving all the food that's coming my way.

Guess who's back? Yes, I went on a vacation to the back pasture with the herd. It sure did me good. I needed it.

I'm also back in training... NEW THINGS! Alex had me trotting/loping in straight line with poles in the ground, then yesterday we went back to the round pen and I was happy because he wasn't worry anymore about me. He was smiling most of the time.

Alex said I will resume training under saddle and keep working the form of my canter.

It been a minute so lots to tell...

Today had a great day in the round pen. YES!! I'm riding already... as a matter of fact I was introduce to the long reins, piece of cake and I adjusted pretty well: I even started backing up with it right away but will need more lessons for full stop with a bit.

I already started side passing in front of the fence and don't need much help with the cues from the ground.

We did ride #6, no signs of being scare or rushing anything. I'm learning how to move off the leg pressure and to pick up speed with skinny Alex on my back.

This week will be mainly working on my stop, more wet pads riding on the round pen and lots of backing up from the ground.

Sorry for the no picture/video. Alex has a new phone that he doesn't want to ruin and there's nobody around to take pics of us.

I have a nails appointment for this week. Haaaa!!

Got to take and (Whos adopted already) to an event today,

Tucker was unsure and very anxious because of all the input that an event like this have. Lots of other horses, most studs, Live Music, Kids running. He did not want to be by himself, what did we work first? patience! Then i came back for him and staterd ponying him using Max.

Max - I knew this horse was good, today he showed me that a good foundation means everything. Not afraid of bulls, not afraid of anything... he took Tucker under his wing and told him enjoy the ride rookie. He was a true champion today!

Because of the trip and setup Tucker got to load into the trailer 3 times today. Every time with more ease.Great time with the boys again.

If you missed on adopting Max, go cry in the corner...
hahahah i mean, stay tune, Tucker might be your next champion...

2017 DTHRTucker -

Tomorrow will be 15 days since Tucker made it to Rancho Paredes. We couldnt be more happy with his progress.

He is a quicker learner and loves attention now.

Farrier? Done!
Shots / Dewormer? Done!
Fly Mask/Spray? Done!
Water? Done!
Trailer Loading? Done!
Saddle / Round Pen Basics? Done!

This guy is on a mission to hit the trails, ASAP!!!

Tucker was cruelty case. Had his halter embedded into his head and needed to be surgically removed. Thanks Dusty Trails Horse Rescue for helping him when he needed it most.

Came to us afraid afraid of men and distrusting. Due to his past also very head shy. That made it almost impossible to care for his feet, shots? No way Jose!

We are going to be working with him. Stay tune for the updates!
