Tis’ the season for giving… great team effort in collecting cleaning supplies for .care.org_ helping our local community. Thank you to all the sailors and families that donated to this project. An extra big thank you to senior captain for organizing and dropping off our donations this weekend!

That’s a wrap on our fall season! We had a great banquet where our freshman rookie took home the “most enthusiastic sailor” award. Great effort by the entire team. We are actively seeking additional sailors for the spring season, please message us for more info!

Our final Sailor Spotlight of the week is this fall is Freshman Avery Marcussen! Avery enjoys being out on the water and enjoyed his first season with us! He also just won the “Most Enthusiastic Sailor” award at the MLSSA awards ceremony. Outside of sailing Avery enjoys playing tennis, and a fun fact about Avery is that he enjoys studying weather! We are so happy to have you on the team !

Next up is sophomore Wade Cranford! Wade is joining us for his first season but is not new to the sport. He sails 420s and Flying Scotts over the summer at Corinthian Yacht Club. Outside of sailing Wade enjoys riding his bike and playing video games. A fun fact about Wade is that he has a dog!

Our Stoga Sailor Spotlight today, is sophomore, Grace Hummel. Grace has been sailing for 9 years in Laser 4.7, Optis, Fevas, and FJS. Over the summer she competes with IHYC, and has placed 1st in Laser 4.7 and as well as placed at over 30 other regattas! Outside of sailing Grace enjoys playing soccer and lacrosse. We are so happy to welcome Grace to the team this year!

Next up is sophomore, Piper Jackson! Piper has been sailing for 5 years in sunfish, lasers, 420s, and FJs! Piper recently placed at Frostbite regatta in the Poconos. Outside of Sailing Piper enjoys Mountain Biking, and. Her favorite memory from Conestoga Sailing was going to a Toms River regatta last Spring. A fun fact about Piper is that she sails in the Poconos over the summer!

Our next Stoga Sailor Spotlight is sophomore, Henry DeHart! Henry has been sailing for 4 years in 420s, flying Scotts, FJs, and cruising yachts. Last year he won best crew in the open fleet! Over the summer Henry sails and is an instructor at CYCOP. Off the water, Henry enjoys playing Tennis, skiing, and biking. .deheart

“Stoga Sailor Spotlight” for today is junior, Ava McAveney! This is Ava’s second year on the team as a crew, and last season Ava placed 2nd in the MASSA Girls Championship. Off the water, Ava enjoys broadcasting sports games as well as going on runs. Her favorite memory from sailing was taking out the flying scouts on a windy day last season. A fun fact about Ava is that she is a beekeeper!

Up next we have Junior, Wyatt Small! This is Wyatt’s third year sailing with us and we are excited to have him back! Wyatt sails FJ’s for Conestoga and in his freshman year took home the 1st place title as a crew in the open series. His favorite memory is winning the MLSSA championship. Off the water, Wyatt enjoys playing paddle and soccer, and a fun fact about Wyatt is that he really enjoys making funnel cakes!

Our next “Stoga Sailor Spotlight” is our co-captain, Junior, Bailey Kreszswick! Bailey has been sailing since she was 8 years old in Optis and 420s. She sails 420s during the summer in Chatham, MA, and recently placed top 10 at West Dennis Regatta. This is her 3rd year sailing for Conestoga. Her favorite sailing memory is the weekly regattas she has spent with her teammates over the last couple of years. Off the water, she plays tennis and writes for the school newspaper, The Spoke.
