The boys got to meet the one and only Jim Shockey last night at the SCI banquet in Kearney while helping Z Hanging Spur with the booth. We were lucky enough to win one of Jim’s new book Call Me Hunter and Jim was gracious enough to sign it for us. We had a great time at the banquet and Jim was a class act and a wonderful speaker and we would highly recommend going to listen to him if you get the chance!!

1st of December opened up bobcat season in Nebraska. We didn’t expect to get on one our first stand but we did.

Chase’s first full day of pheasant hunting was a HUGE success!!! The money man got his first ever limit and with the snow we got the day before it made for a great day. Chase at only 7 months old, had multiple solid points and retrieves he is incredibly advanced for his age is working like a dog that is 2 years old. I was also able to finally shoot something with my new shotgun that Kash got me from Z Hanging Spur and I couldn’t be happier with it. We hopefully have lots more days in the field this season with Chase but this weekend is the first coyote calling contest and the boys are gearing up for that!!!

Kashy drew first blood today in the final hours of opening morning. The boys hunted hard and saw lots of good deer just nothing we wanted to put a tag on. Then the money man put a big one down and we couldn’t be more proud!! Congrats Kashy on a great buck!!!

The crew would like to wish everyone good luck tomorrow for opening morning of Nebraska’s rifle deer season! We would also like to take a minute and go over a few things we find important.

1. If your meat hunting shoot a doe and let the little bucks grow. You can’t shoot big bucks if you don’t let them grow.
2. Please don’t shoot a 100 inch deer and then ask the internet what he scores and get your feelers hurt when you get roasted.
3. Don’t be an as***le and drive through other peoples pastures just because the gate is open.
4. If someone is nice enough to let you hunt then be courteous enough to shut gates and pick up trash if you find it and damn sure don’t throw beer cans out of the window.
5. If you are meat hunting and want a doe then shoot a whitetail doe and try and leave the mule deer does alone as their numbers suck this year.

Again this is just some observations we have and they are just our opinions and are not dicks so please don’t take them hard. Again good luck to everyone and have a safe hunting season!!

If anyone makes a bad shot this weekend and needs a dog to blood trail your deer, we can help you out! Chase found a wounded deer twice last weekend and for never being trained to blood trail he did amazing!! Get ahold of us if you need Chase to help you out!!
