M & M Storm Chasing consist of a team of weather enthusiasts with a combined chasing experience of over 20 years. Our members come with Skywarn training and are volunteer spotters for the National Weather Service. Our members also have training from UCAR in various weather related fields, including ocean weather, thunderstorms, synoptic weather, and analyzing radar. Some also come with a back grou
nd in emergency communications and are licensed FCC Amateur Radio Operators and support their respected ARES groups. During severe weather events, they go out to assist the NWS and local emergency management; with gathering ground truth, which in turn helps the NWS make quick and timely warnings. We also gather data, video, and photos for use in better understanding storms and their destructive nature, in hopes that doing so will lead to better warning times and less storm related deaths or injuries.
