24 years young today!
The best unicorn anyone could ask for (okay I'm biased). Jarman has stepped into a babysitter type role this year and absolutely loves it. He teaches the youngsters how to go in company, sets a calm example for the OTTBs' first time away from home, and leads the way when new horses hack the property. Of course we still need to do some more serious trot sets and dressage work to keep his mind & body engaged (yes he is still strong to ride 🤣💪)

David (Splendid Giant) owned by Heather Kavanagh had a fabulous first ever horse show at CDCTA Schooling Dressage Show yesterday afternoon! 5th in Training 1 (we would have placed much higher if not for an unfortunate major wind gust spook!) and 2nd in Intro C! 🎉🥳
This OTTB came off the trailer flat footed, hacked down the monster filled path to the show rings solo, went past the horse-eating tents, survived the warmup ring, and then remained workmanlike within the white boards. So proud!
Thank you Heather for trusting me with your boy!
And thank you Jess Clawson and company (girl please tag everyone) for all of your help, y'all are a fantastic village to work with!

Big Bad Brass
6 year old OTTB gelding. About 16h. Amateur friendly. Last race was 4/9/26, he has been hanging out at his owners farm since then. No injuries or vices.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

✅Body clipped my personal horse
✅Trimmed up face/legs on a client's horse
✅Cleaned and bleached the autowaterers and troughs (Player helped!)
✅Weeded the arena edges (at least some of it 🥵)
✅Dragged the arena (twice)
✅Dug up the thistles on the fence line
✅Went on a carcass hunt to pick up after the resident foxes
✅Washed horse laundry and turnout sheets

Who says dressage horses can't jump? Player is an 8 year old Dutch warmblood who was started as a dressage horse but has dreams of becoming a jumping horse. Day 1 barely picking up his feet over a line of xrails. Day 2 lifting his shoulders and showing some power over an oxer X. This horse has such a great brain and wants to please!

Stephanie Bresnan and her morgan Fiona at Sienna Rock Stables demonstrating a simple yet effective exercise to practice lengthening and shortening your strides. 2 poles set a far distance apart, count your strides in between the poles. Then try to add 1 or 2 strides in between poles (shortening the stride). They leave out 1 or 2 strides (lengthening).
I love this exercise at the walk in the winter and hot summer when temperatures restrict how much trotting and cantering you can safely do. 🐴😀
