EVERYDAY IS VALENTINE’S DAY!!!!

Whether or not you have a significant other, having someone to support you or to have as an accountability partner can help when it comes to achieving your fitness goals.

At LifeRX you are never alone! You have coaches here who will do all the planning and programming to get you success, all you have to do is show up. With that, when you attend our group classes you’ll get to work out with like-minded individuals who will help encourage and motivate you to keep going!

We’re not saying you can’t do anything on your own because we know you are capable. However we understand that some days, weeks, or even months can be difficult at times when it comes to staying focused on your fitness goals/needs. We are here for all those difficult days and even on your good days!

Just like some weightloss myths, there are also exercise myths out there.

Every individual is unique therefore every individual needs to have his or her own unique fitness plan in order to achieve his or her own fitness goals.

No fitness program fits all and it’s not always that “simple” to do certain exercises or types of exercise to achieve specific goals. For example, if you want to lose fat in the stomach, doing more sit-ups doesn’t achieve that. When it comes to fat loss, there’s no such thing as spot-reducing. When you lose fat it comes off proportionally throughout the entire body. With that, there are many more ways to define, tone, and strengthen the stomach area other than sit-ups.

Pain comes from our brain. It is a PERCEIVED threat. What does that mean? It means our brain might perceive a situation as something that could potentially cause us harm, and create the sensation of pain to stop us from continuing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The tricky part? Sometimes our brain is wrong and perceives threats when they aren't there, forcing us to feel pain before we really should. This often happens when we have had chronic pain, or been in pain for a long time. The threshold for what our brain thinks is threatening becomes a lot lower than it does when we are healthy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This means we can feel pain without any tissue damage.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A great example: People with low back pain often report pain when bending over, or a fear of bending over due to pain. We KNOW there is nothing inherently wrong or dangerous with bending over and there is no mechanism in which bending over could cause us tissue damage. However our brain is in such a sensitive threat mode due to chronic pain, that it perceives bending over as a potential for causing harm, and therefore we feel pain.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Pain does not equal damage. Damage does not equal pain.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
