Northeast GT at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park is a wrap. Peter McParland was joined by Sashika Dias and Dan Baldwin for a double 3hr. The team had a prefect race on track both Saturday and Sunday, even setting fastest lap on day one. But things didn’t go so fast in pit lane. We were slow on our driver changes and fueling didn’t go so fast either. We lost time and track position and at the end of day one we were second in class and second overall. A change in strategy for day two helped, but still wasn’t enough. Four teams finished on the lead lap and we were tenths behind Steve Djsteviec Cohen and placed third. Congrats to Steve and his team on their win on Saturday and Josh and Chad on their win on Sunday.

Huge thanks to Nick Fontana and Armin Mejia as well as their volunteers for making this happen. And bigger thanks to Paddy McParland and Peter Fontana for the help in the garage and on pit lane.

Palmer Motorsports Park is next July 13-14.

It’s very rare that any of the racing I do will get some sort of broadcast, but this weekend I’m racing with Gridlife and they bring a proper broadcasting team. They show the race live on YouTube. We just had qualifying and I’m in the middle, 31st out of 48.

Most of the coverage will be of the top drivers, so not much of a chance that I’ll get any air time.

On grid at VIRginia International Raceway with Fontana GT. Driver lineup for today’s WRL 8 hour is Nick Fontana, Jon Cowen, Peter McParland, Peter Fontana, Dave Lemoine.

It’s been a tough weekend so far. Big thanks to the crew of Paddy McParland, Joe Sanguinetti and Demetrius Mossaidis for working so hard to get us to this point.

Fingers crossed for a solid result today.

Thompson with COM Sports Car Club (COMSCC) went off almost without a hitch in the Mustang. A leaking clutch master cylinder feed line was a 2 minute fix with 30 minutes spent trying to find a suitable replacement hose. Thanks to our friends Jake Wile of Wile Motorsport and Scott Rosnick of FasTrack Automotive Inc. for their help.

Disappointing result in the TT for the three of us driving the Mustang. Nick and Peter Fontana finished 3rd and 4th respectively in T70. Good friend and customer Ryan Catucci finished 1st. A fresh set of Hoosiers and years of success behind the wheel of an STi undoubtedly played a role in his well deserved win.

Peter McParland finished 7th in an absolutely stacked T80 field that included two 991 GT3s, a Cayman GT4 and a well developed and well driven 135i.

The real success here was being able to roll it off the trailer and turn 234 laps (almost 400 miles and an estimated 6 hours of drive time) with only a hiccup. There was well over an hour of open track after the TT and Peter Fontana was able to drive almost all of it right to the last checked flag

I’m really happy with how this S550 Mustang came out. I want to say thanks to those that helped us in the process. Chris Howard for the cage work, Curtis at MSI Racing Products, Raybestos Racing & Performance, the guys at HMS Motorsport with selecting the best fitting seats and Schroth Racing belts. The guys in the parts department at Franklin Ford Sales for all the OEM parts we needed. The customer also added a RECARO FIA slider and AiM Sportline Solo2 DL and Smartycam.

First event is Friday and Saturday at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park with COM Sports Car Club (COMSCC). Fingers crossed for an easy shakedown and a great result in the time trial.

Developing it with the customer for endurance racing will be even more fun!

Had a great time up at Club Motorsports with New England Driving Enthusiasts last weekend. Tons of cool cars and it was great to see so many friends from COM Sports Car Club out instructing and getting people excited to be on track. Thanks to Eric and Steve for organizing
