Unfortunately our season came to an end today in a tough loss to Lenox. The offense was led by sophomore Autumn Nicholson, who went 3 for 5 with a home run, 4 RBIs, and 3 runs, senior Molly LaBrie who was 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, 1 RBI, and 1 run, and freshman Maddy Kline with 2 hits (1 double), 2 RBIs, and 1 run. Other offensive contributors were senior Izzy Znoj (1 hit - a double, 1 walk, 2 runs), junior Kara Millar (1 hit, 1 RBI), freshman Mackenzie House (1 hit, 1 walk, 1 run), sophomore Kenzie Moniz (1 hit, 1 run), freshman Ruth Fagundes (1 hit), sophomore Liv Furtado (1 walk, 1 RBI), and freshman Olivia Schoorens (1 walk). In the circle, freshman Ruth Fagundes pitched 5.1 innings, striking out 4 and giving up no walks, while freshman Olivia Schoorens came in in relief, pitching 1.2 innings and striking out 1.
This is one of the best teams we have ever had, and we couldn’t be prouder of how hard every kid has worked and how well they have all done. From freshmen coming in and making immediate impacts, to sophomores continuing their success from last year and showing strong leadership, to juniors stepping up at the plate and in the field, to our incredible senior leaders who have left a lasting impact on the program; everyone played as a team, supported each other, gave their all every game, and contributed to our success in so many ways. This team was special and we can’t wait to see how we grow next season.

Jumping for joy because we advanced to the next round!
Freshman Ruth Fagundes pitched a complete (5 inning) shut out, striking out 5 and giving up 2 hits and no walks. Freshman Julia Gagnier made a highlight-reel worthy diving catch in foul territory in right field, while junior Kara Millar saved a run with an insane pump fake at short that had us all fooled.
At the plate, every batter reached base at least once! Offense was led by senior Molly LaBrie (2 hits, 4 RBIs), senior Izzy Znoj (1 hit - a triple, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs), sophomore Autumn Nicholson (2 for 3- 1 double, 3 runs), freshman Maddy Kline (2 for 3, 1 RBI, 4 runs), and junior Kara Millar (1 hit, 2 RBIs). Other contributions came from freshman Mackenzie House (1 hit - a double, 1 RBI, 1 run), sophomore Kenzie Moniz (1 hit, 2 runs, 1 stolen base), sophomore Liv Furtado (1 RBI on a hit by pitch), and freshman Julia Gagnier (1 run).
Next game will be a Round of 16 matchup at home against the winner of tomorrow’s matchup between Lenox and Palmer.
HUGE shout out the Berkley Athletic Association - BAA for allowing us to use the field for today’s game! And again shout out to Flex It Photography for the pic!

Tough loss yesterday in 8 innings against Franklin County Tech in the semi-final of the MVADA Small Vocational State Tournament. They were a very talented team and we wish them all the best of luck in the rest of the tournament! As for us, despite the tough loss, freshman Ruth Fagundes pitched all 8 innings, striking out 7, bringing her season total to 133! Senior Izzy Znoj had 1 hit and 2 RBIs, while senior Molly LaBrie (triple), sophomore Liv Furtado, and junior Kara Millar all had 2 hits and a run apiece. Junior Shelby Benoit and sophomore Kenzie Moniz also picked up a hit each.

I have no words to say except for wow. This team. Today marked the end of our regular season, and we ended as Mayflower League Champions, going a perfect 10-0 in the league with today’s hard-fought win. We finished the season 16-2 overall, with our only losses coming from West Bridgewater, and ended on a 13 game winning streak. Today’s 10 inning win over Old Colony in the 90 degree heat proved we have mental toughness and we don’t quit. Down 8-1 going into the 5th inning, we rallied and scored 4. Down 10-5 going into the 6th we rallied to tie the game. That’s the stuff that can’t be taught, and that’s what makes this team so special. Freshman Olivia Schoorens struck out 4 through the first 4 innings, and freshman Ruth Fagundes, coming in in relief to start the 5th inning, struck out 12 through 6 innings of work. Sophomore Kenzie Moniz drove in the game-tying RBI (sophomore Liv Furtado) in the 6th on an infield single to 2nd, and sophomore Autumn Nicholson drove in the go ahead runs (senior Izzy Znoj, freshman Maddy Kline) on a double to center in the 10th. Ruth Fagundes then struck out 3 of the 4 batters she faced in the bottom half to secure the victory.
On to the State Vocational Tournament.
