Seniors Molly McAskin, Caleigh Tracey, and Olivia Church were Viking captains for me in 2021. We reunited for their sophomore season at BHS, adding Amsatou “Z” Diop to the rotation, and winning the JV championship. Katelin Sills, Blessing Nweke, and Nadia Watt were our Norup rivals in 2021 and accomplished an undefeated season. Great memories, great players. Come support them tonight on Senior Night!

Wins fade. Stats collect dust. But what they’ve built here… the culture, the accountability, the love for the game and for one another… that lasts.

Friday night we celebrate them the right way. Pack the gym. Be loud. Represent OUR TEAM.

Five weeks into the 8th grade season and your Anderson 8th grade Vikings are in a share for first place with Royal Oak at 4-1. We are riding a three game winning streak with finals of:

vs Oak Park (W) 35-29
@ North Hills (W) 47-11
@ South Hills (W) 53-2

After five games all 13 players have scored. We very easily have 10 starters and success is spread evenly over all 13 players. We control our own destiny. Win out and earn a share of the 8th grade title.

Anderson 8th grade girls basketball won’t be sneaking up on anyone as they entered play tonight as one of the top teams in the league. They started the season with a 45 point exclamation victory over Berkshire, ending the opener with a 52-7 final. Big congrats to Veronica Sousanis for scoring her first two career middle school baskets! Huge games were had by starting Center Libby Knapp, starting Point Guard Audrey Murphy, with Johanna Mayes and Reagen Skipton contributing off the bench.

Anderson 7th grade had an amazing defensive start with a 2-2 score after the first period vs a Berkshire 7th grade team that features extreme height and talent up and down the starting 5. Big scores from Mackenzie Savage and Marin Stahl and gutsy defensive performances down low from the starting frontcourt of Hadley Casetta, Vayda Rowlett and Simone Wright kept this one close in a 10-23 loss. Great fight Vikings!

Your 8th Grade Vikings might have something brewing... A 34-14 win on the road against a top Warner team. 2-0 on the season. Big expectations!

Anderson 8th Grade Girls Basketball started off the season with a tough Royal Oak opponent for game one. Great defense and an 18 point scoring performance from Niqco Shoulders led the way as the Vikings edged out a 23-18 win at home!

The coaching staff is so proud of our wonderful, unselfish, hardworking group of 17 athletes that refused to let a surprising mid-season 1 point loss keep them down. We regrouped, found out who we really were, and went on a terror to end the season scoring an average of 32 points per game and allowing only 12 over a 6-0 stretch. Take some time to appreciate this 9-2 season. Soak in the 2nd place finish. You never lost at home. Not one opponent stood on YOUR Anderson court and celebrated. That green side of your jerseys is undefeated. Rest up. Then get back in the gym and work on your craft. We have more goals to achieve next year on Berkley Women's Basketball.
