Since October 5th, Public Works staff has been busy planning for the future of our parks at both Berkeley Park and Lind Park. Over a period of five days, a total of 43 trees were planted in both sites with thoughtful consideration given to each planting location. Today, Public Works planted its final 16 trees donated by the Morton Arboretum. We truly appreciate our partnerships that made this all possible and sincerely enjoyed the kind words from park and path users during this project.

The Department of Public Works is pleased to have planted one dozen trees in Berkeley Park along the Illinois Prairie Path this morning. The Illinois Prairie Path awarded the department a $2500 grant for this project. The Village of Berkeley and the Berkeley Park District appreciates your support as we endeavor to plant shade trees to benefit our path users here in our present and far into our future.

Public Works staff is currently hard at work installing trees throughout the Village 0n parkways and Village properties. Today’s effort sought to provide green scape to make the base of the water tower more appealing. Further trees are planned throughout Berkeley Park in the coming days, so please keep an eye out for workers as you travel the paths and we will do our best not to slow you down.
