Big shoutout to Berea Boy Scout Troop 51 and one very thoughtful Eagle Scout for their recent project at Silver Creek Bike Park. 💚🚲

This crew:
• Planted around 50 spring bulbs around our park sign
• Installed two new bike stands
• Built and installed two handmade benches

The Eagle Scout asked to remain anonymous, but their impact won’t be. Every time someone locks up a bike, takes a break, or see those flowers, they'll feel that extra bit of care that went into your contribution.

Silver Creek Bike Park exists because our community shows up; City of Berea partners, KYMBA Bluegrass volunteers, local teams like the Madison County Mad Hatters, and now Troop 51 adding their chapter to the story. This is what connection, service, and mountain biking in Berea looks like.

Season Finale coming up!

We have been quiet these last few weeks as we get things rolling for Sugarcamp! Josh has been on the road every week with the Lindsey Wilson Cycling team, sorry for the all quiet!

Here is what you need to know.
- Bluegrassmountaincup.com is loaded with great details.
- The state park campground is closed, that is correct.
- The XC race will still loop through the campground and that is where you will park and the start/finish will be on Saturday.
- Endruo will all base from the top, and that will be on Sunday. You cannot park in the campground Sunday, but you can pick people up for shuttles.
- There is primitive camping at the top (free just reg for it on the reg site). No hook ups, water, etc. Will have portojohns.
- Shuttles happen Sat & Sun. Check the website.
- Kids race is at the top on Sunday morning. There is a new kids course!
- Food trucks will be on site both days. Likely be in the campground Sat morning, then the top from Sat afternoon-Sunday.
- The course will go live soon.
- The XC course is live and is a hair shorter than last year.

We have some bad news, y’all.

Unfortunately, we have to cancel the 2025 KYMBA Bluegrass MTB Clinics due to low turnout and participation. We are sorry to do this, but we cannot host this event as intended for the small crew who signed up. Events like this require significant resources, volunteer efforts, and local buy-in, and can only occur when riders show up and participate (the same goes for races, rides, and other opportunities).

igning up is the single most important step in ensuring that mountain biking and outdoor recreation events continue to grow and thrive.

To those who registered—thank you for choosing to invest in your skills and in your riding community. We will be refunding all amounts paid in the coming days and have emailed you some options for small group or one-on-one coaching experiences. We hope you’ll reinvest in one of these opportunities.

To those who offered support for this event—thank you so very much. We deeply value our local partnerships and look forward to continuing to build our relationships.

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 104.

* WHERE...Portions of south central Indiana and east central, north central, northwest, and south central Kentucky.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
