But who do you become when you’re not your 25 year old self any more?
The unknown is scary to that identity, it’s why you hold onto it, unconvinced the next stage could actually contain more beauty.
This requires you to give up something in order to get something grander. But it’s human nature to desperately avoid losing something (even if you don’t like that much any more.) More so than it is motivating to step into the potentially better unknown.
We often think we can only get to the *potential better* by manipulating the current paradigm. But more often than not it’s the old paradigm velcroing us to outdated ways of thinking. And if we peel ourselves away from it, we’d find ourselves freer and more enriched.
