In a culture that tells you that you’re not worth anything if you aren’t small, have abs, have the right aesthetic and maintain the same body no matter your age, be the woman other women come to when they’re sick of conforming.

I love a good goal. While there’s nothing wrong with wanting to lose weight, when you have a more specific goal in mind, you’re more likely to stick with your program.

And I am so grateful for all my amazing clients! Some have been with me for years and some for a specific time frame.

This summer, I’ll be launching a new online program just for women and I can’t wait to see who joins!

If you’re over 40, DM me!

Strong back, open heart

I’ve always loved this saying as a reminder to stay open and vulnerable but not without boundaries and resilience.

Greet each other with love and compassion but with vigilance and self respect.

Back bends and side bends in yoga embody this. Creating an open front - exposing the throat, heart and organs - our softest bits; while strengthening the muscles of the back and side body.

These postures remind us to remain strong but not build walls.

Say it with me:

Love yourself. Trust yourself. Believe in yourself. Forgive yourself. Don’t put on others what you can do for yourself. You are strong. You are capable. You are gifted.

And no I won’t argue with you about it 😤. I also say Namaste.

1) I happen to think Asana is a very important part of the eight limbs of Yoga. I have always struggled with anxiety and probably have ADHD, so getting in my body through movement has always been like medicine for my brain. If the goal of yoga is to calm the fluctuations of the mind and many of us can do that initially by accessing the body, why do so many people s**t on Asana?

2) If bliss or samadhi can be produced through practicing yoga, why are we all so serious about the practice? Fighting on social media about what is and isn’t yoga (looking at you goat yoga), blaming the “yoga industry” (which we’re all a part of in a capitalistic society) & holding lineage in more esteem than it deserves (guru abuse anyone?) instead of teaching people practical skills for stepping outside the cycle of suffering? We shouldn’t ignore serious issues, but it’s overtaking the intention of the practice

3) why do my students need to flip dog to wild thing, to spider monkey plank into hanumanasana to hand stand to reach enlightenment?

Not gonna lie - you don’t just buy a business when you’re a yoga teacher and automatically figure out how to run a business.

I have a degree in psychology, not business, and figuring some of this stuff out is HARD. But I survived c*v&d and surely I can survive the hellscape that is 2026. Right???

No one wants to treat yoga as a business but if you want a nice, clean studio with a consistent schedule and quality teachers, guess what? You gotta run a business.

So say a little prayer for us accidental entrepreneurs and remember to support small whimsical businesses.

Advanced yoga students has nothing to do with asana..

1) it’s when they stick with their breath. Whether that means slowing down a sequence or breathing deeply through an intense posture. The breath is treated as just important as the pose.

2) it’s when they skip a posture even when they and I know they’re capable of doing it. When they listen to their body and cultivate their own wisdom to know when pushing it could create an injury instead of a challenge or breakthrough.

3) when they see that the point of the practice isn’t the asana - the handstands, contortions or flexibility. The physical benefits are real but the life applications are the bigger gift.

4) fully blissed out in the final pose of surrender. Understanding the metaphorical meaning and embracing it as important as chaturanga. We all have to skip it from time to time due to life schedules but what an important way to teach yourself that nothing is permanent and that integrating the practice is the way we take it off the mat.
