It brings us great sadness to share that one of our own, Kyle Huffman, has passed away.
Many of you at Hwy 12 Gym knew Kyle. He was always a joy to talk to and brought great energy with him whenever he walked through our doors. He had a smile on his face, a positive attitude, and over the years we were fortunate to share many great conversations with him.
Kyle was someone who was constantly working to better himself. That was true in the gym, in his education, in his career, and in life. He was a firefighter, EMT, paramedic, registered nurse, and was continuing his education to become a nurse practitioner. He dedicated much of his life to serving and helping others, eventually earning the rank of Captain in the fire service and also serving his community as a police officer.
As impressive as his accomplishments were, what stood out most in our conversations with Kyle was how much he loved his family. He talked about them often, and you never had to wonder how proud he was of his children or how much they meant to him.
Kyle represented so much of what we believe a gym community is about: continually pushing yourself to become better, showing up, working hard, and building relationships with the people around you.
Thirty-eight years was far too short, but Kyle accomplished and impacted more in those years than many people do in a lifetime. His loss will be felt throughout our community and by everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
Our hearts and prayers are with Kyle’s children, family, friends, his brothers and sisters in the fire service, and everyone who loved him during this incredibly difficult time.
Rest easy, brother. You will be deeply missed.
