We’ve had unexpected openings for Week 2 (June 15–21) of Aquabase—and spots are filling up fast! ⛵️
We also still have availability for:
🗓️ Week 4: June 29 – July 5
🗓️ Week 5: July 6 – 12
🗓️ Week 6: July 13 – 19

Aquabase is a week-long sailing adventure on Kentucky Lake, one of the largest man-made lakes in the world! Scouts team up in crews of 3–4, manage their own sailboat, and sail to different ports around the lake—sleeping aboard their boat each night 🌅

Join us in welcoming Capt. Rusty Rice as our 2025 AquaBase High Adventure Sailing Director.
Capt. Rusty Rice just wrapped up a season at Northern Tier National High Adventure Base on staff with the Okpik Winter Camping program . Here Capt. Rusty took scouts to explore the cold winter landscape of northern Minnesota with dogsleds, snow shoes, cross country skis, and sleeping out on the ice of frozen lakes.
Eagle Scout Rusty has long history of summer camp leadership in scouting but was also a lead instructor with Outward Bound. He has had a US Coast Guard 200 ton Walt Captain’s license, while working with Outward Bound and Disney World. Rusty is a trained EMT with a Masters of Divinity and a Graduate Certificate in Adventure Based Education. Rusty was made for this job as he was crew and an extra for the movies Pirates of the Caribbean II and III!
